There are several things to check, depending on your configuration.
Deleted items aren't always purged right away. Also, they can be configured to stay until you get a good backup.
Like Zelandakh says, Event 1221 will tell you how much empty space you have in Priv.edb. That is roughly how...
I have a user getting .PDF files sent to them from a vendor. The mail arrives with gibberish embedded into the body of the mail, and a message that says:
This message is in MIME format. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible.
If...
This may sound dumb, but is the drive compressed that Exchange is sitting on? Someone built one of our servers like that, and it caused painful slowdowns.
Exchange should never be on a compressed drive.

NT uses WINS to find the PDC. If the PDC cannot find a WINS server, it will not be able to reply to the new machine.
Point both the machines to a working WINS server and you should be all set.

I run an NT4.0 domain. Our remote users connect via SecurID to our parent company, then authenticate to our network for mail etc.
Clients are running Win2K Pro. When authenticated to SecurID, they press CTRL+ALT+DEL and try to change their password. After a moment, they get an error message...
I am working on upgrading to Exchange 2K. To test moving mailboxes, I need to have enough mail in them to be realistic.
Does anyone know of a utility to send mail to mailboxes; I'd like to send a different amount to several mailboxes.
Thanks,
Dan
I am trying to install Outlook 2K2 via a MST file. I want to send this to users instead of doing a local install on each workstation.
When I create the MST file, it never gives me a chance to enter the license key. So, upon completion of the install it asks for the user name (that's fine), and...
I will be deploying several Active Directory servers (all they will do is AD work) in Europe. I want them to be almost maintenance free.
I am installing Diskeeper on my other servers, but is there a benefit to using it on AD controllers? I don't know how much they get fragmented over time...
I have 10 sites, with a total of 500 users. In "Best Practice Active Directory Design for Managing Windows Networks", Microsoft says that it is a "best practice" to have the initial domain in a forest established as a root domain with no general users; the bulk of the users...
Is there a script that will allow me to generate a list of accounts with passwords set not to expire?
I found one that would tell me account expiration dates, but not password expiration information.
Thanks,
Dan
I have a domain that is migrating from 4.0 to Win2K. I have one Win2K server that I want to be the time server for the domain. It is a member server of the 4.0 domain, but when I migrate to 2K it will be a domain controller.
Our current NT4 PDC is at another WAN location.
I can't find anything...
Send them a meeting request. When you create one, it makes an event saying that you accessed their mailbox.
That is because you are able to check their availability for that meeting.

I have an ISA server that acts as our proxy to an ISP. I inherited the system (disclaimer).
Recently, I updated the server (Win2K standalone) using windows update. Upon reboot, the routing of internal addresses doesn't work. If I put the internal addresses in the clients IE settings it works...
I need to replace a .ini file on a Win2K workstation. Here is the scenario:
I need to replace a .ini file on logon to connect the users to a test machine. On logoff, I need to put the correct on back in place.
User will log in locally to the machine, not to the domain. We cannot log the users...
Sleigher - that did the trick. The system resolves it to the drive with the users name (ie when I go back into User Manager it has their user name instead of %username%), but it maps directly into their drive.
Thanks!
