I just installed 2010 in my 2003 environment and everything seems to be Ok, one question I do have..why when I look at the 2010 management I have 3 Mailbox databases and one public. Do they all need to be mounted, does it matter which one I move mailboxes to?
Thansk much

You are guessing right(migration). So this morning I decided to try it on a DC that is not a VM and the process worked. Needed to do some DNS cleanup but things seem to be good now.
Thanks for you help
When I first tried this I connected to a VM domain controller. Would it hurt anything if I were to start over and connect to a physical server rather than a VM server?
Thanks for the tips but now it seems I have a bigger problem
I got to the step where I type "remove seleted server" and below is what I get
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdsutil.exe: medadata cleanup
Error 80070057 parsing input - illegal syntax?

I have a 2003 domain with 4 domain controllers. One of the domain controllers has been off line for about a yr now and I'd like to find a way to demote this server. Can I just turn it on let it sync up and then demote or is there a better way of doing this. Will turning...
I've been using Sonicwall 4060 with the global VPN Client and everything worked fine. Once connected to the VPN remotley I would use remote desktop at home to connect to my pc at the office. I recently configured the Firewall so when a user connects with VPN client they are required to enter a...
Have a remote user that connects to our local network with Cisco VPN client. This remote users OS is WIN 2003. Pre SP1 and some patches he was always able to RDC into any of the machines on our local network. Now that he has installed SP1 and some patches (I have no idea how many and not sure if...
I've done that to. The funny thing is I even tried to connect using VNC and that doen't work. But like I said previously, the remote user can map drives, use SQL Enterprise but cannot remote into any system.
About to give up.
Thanks for your response

Is it a bad thing to bring a PDC on-line about once a week?
What we want to do is have a notebook as a PDC and keep it off site incase of a disaster. I was wondering if it would hurt anything if I were to bring it on line to sycronize on a weekly schedule.
I am a newbie with SQL but the system has 512MB RAM and 1GHz Processor. Its got a very simple database server about 10 users but later this year we're putting a bigger database on this server and well be upgrading the memory.
I just want to make sure I wont cause any problems with SQL if I...
