well the range i thought i should be able to use using a /22 subnet is
172.16.0.0 - 172.16.3.254 with the broadcast being 172.16.3.255
Surely i should be able to use all these IP's within the range i have specified above?
If i put a PC with an ip address of 172.16.2.40 on the network it can...
I have just changed our IP addressing in our company over to the following.
172.16.0.0 255.255.252.0
I have put all the servers on 172.16.0.0
I have put all the Users workstations on 172.16.1.0
I have put firewalls and the like on 172.16.2.0
Between all these ranges i am able to ping...

That is a real pain.
If i click on the block policy inheritence on the OU's will that stop the domain password policy change from taking effect on the users in the OU??
I just want to be able to test this without it taking effect on 400 users tomorrow morning.
Thanks
James
We are testing a new policy in a OU with some test users.
If we make changes to policy they take effect straight away, however the changes do not take effect with the password settings.
Secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce
Has been run but the setting still have not taken effect...
On the citrix servers i stopped the IMA service and recreated the local host cache, then started the IMA service which started with no errors, tried rebooting the SQL server as well.
On the client end of things i tried refreshing, creating a brand new connection, also tried altering the the...
Thanks Ascotta, wonder if you can answer my main problem?
My main problem is that i need to change our subnet in our office, as soon as i put our current datastore on a new subnet it and put all the servers and pcs on the new subnet the published apps stop working. Even creating new ones does...
Is it possible to transfer parts of a datastore to a new datastore?
the main thing i am thinking is the license information.
I am on Citrix XPa FR3 and have a hell of a lot of license details that i will have to firstly get and then input and really would like another way of doing this. I know...
I have had a similar problem, i changed our LAN over from a Public IP range to a proper Private IP range, when i did this i was then not able to connect to Published Applications even though all the Citrix XPa FR3 Servers were on the same subnet as the Datastore that was on the SQL Server, even...
The Datastore that resides on a SQL Server has just had its IP and subnet changed and so had all the W2K Terminal Servers with Citrix XP FR3 installed on them. They all reside on this new subnet, however if i try to create a new published app or logon to an existing published app i cannot...
This keeps on popping up on Windows 2000 Servers, whenever you do something like a search from the start menu, also when some programs are run. Office is completely installed locally and has been patched.
Any ideas?
Thanks
We have lots of Citrix XP FR3 Servers running on Windows 2000.
The data store resides on an SQL Server.
We have hundreds of users around the country that connect to published Apps.
Next weekend i plan to change the our IP network that the servers are on. The consequences of this are that all...
My company is currently using a Public IP addressing system for its Offices, i want to change so that we are using a proper Private address, i also want to enable our main office to have more node IP's. We are currently using a subnet of 255.255.255.0.

Can someone please explain to me what i need to do for Server Licensing.
I have purchased 350 Server licenses and 300 Terminal Server Licenses. We run in Per Seat Mode.
I have installed the Terminal Server Licenses correctly but seem to have some really strange license usage within the...
I a lot of Window 98 PC's are being assigned the wrong subnet, they are getting a correct IP address but for some reason if i do a WINIPCFG i can see that they have a sometimes an /8 bit subnet or a /16 bit subnet.
In the scope i have put that it is a /24 bit subnet.
Some of the PC's seem to...
I have just finished configuring Active Directory in a domain and have the dns working fine internally.
The problem is that somehow i have managed to configure the DNS Servers as root Servers so i cant forward or have the root hints.
How do i create a Windows 2000 DNS forwarder Sever as...
I want to promote one of our BDC to take over but when i go int Server manager it does not allow me to do it.
How can i promote a BDC when there is no PDC present??
Thanks
Don't think removing CD's etc will help as the problem is so random. (There's no BU devices or sound cards on them).
We're running NT4 terminal server with sp6, citrix XP with SP1, MSoffice 2000.
NT4 terminal servers restarting over night using "at" to schedule a dos "shutdown /reboot /v" command. Seemingly with no reason, they don't come back up some mornings - but just display a black screen with a single, flashing white cursor. Don't even get to the NT loader...
