I've got some items I've got seperated into layers so I can fiddle with the colors at will. I've been going through and correcting some alignment issues using vertical guides, and I've reached a problem - I don't know how to link the layers together so that when I rotate the one object, all of...
This is great advice, Rollie, and gets me over my current speedbump, as I have tried to design the form a few different ways now, and I know exactly what you are talking about - much obliged. I'm not entirely familiar with an incident table - would this be a table with no relationships? A...
Hi friends,
I studied for a CCNA a long time ago, and I remember a lot of how to get around in IOS. I have a new client, just moved to a new location. They have a PIX 501 set up as their gateway and firewall. I have to change the address on the outside interface to their new static IP.
I...
Thanks for the tips - O
;; have to see if I can find out how the server was set up; I'm more of a network/router guy than a server admin. Can you re-run dcpromo without adverse effects?
I'll google it - thanks for the tip.
I've made a little progress on this - check the server disk quotas - my user was trying to sync 7GB with his profile. I'm still having the problem intermittently, but not seriously enough to pull me off other project atm. Continuing to ofollow this thread for a solution, though.
I need a good...
Have you tried using nett folders?
I've gotten this to work on a peer network, using the exact same versions of outlook on both PCs.
This link will show you the basics of net folders.
CAVEAT(s): This has only worked for me a few times. On other occasions, it has failed. Your results may...
I hope someone here can help me out. I use a spreadsheet
function to look at a column that contains dates in the
mm/dd/yy format. I used the conditional sum wizard under
excel 2000 to build a formula that will look at these
date values, find all that are within a month period, and
add a...
Hi friends,
I've got a few posts going here - sorry if I'm clogging the pipes. While looking for resolution to some nascent latency in browsing network drives, I see constant questions about DNS.
I understand what DNS is and does. No problem there. However, when I went to check the DNS...
There is no unusal traffic, according to enlightenment. The system is not exactly hanging; it seems to be more delaying, A LONG TIME. For example, user's pst file (outlook data file) is located on mapped P drive. From My Computer, double-click P drive, then take a seat. Five-ten minutes...
Well, there's only one server here - the DC. I did manage to resolve this, sort of, by deleting his path to the profile under his properties in AD.
New issue, which I thinkis tied to profiles as well, is a sudden slowdown in network browsing. I've been surfing here for a few hours today...
Hi friends,
I'm sitting at a workstation that is, for all intents and purposes, running fine. It is a win2k machine, part of a win2k server domain. They were originally set up with roaming profiles. Yesterday I removed one user from his roaming profile by removing the path in his properties...

Hi friends,
My client has a win2K server acting as DC for eight win2K clients and 2 WinXP laptops. We are using roaming profiles (I didn't set it up, and in fact barely understand it) and we are experiencing some errors on logon for one client. He has about 8G on the server, and his PC has...
A few things to try that may narrow your focus.
Try to access a share using IP address, eg \\192.168.1.xxx or whatever. That will tell you if it is a name resolution issue.
Can you ping to your DNS servers? Can you query them?
Start-run - - cmd - - nslookup google.com
See what you get -...
Thanks for all the replies. I actually inadvertantly found the fix for the problem in a seemingly unrelated post right here. I went out to the client site, and looked into the services running ont he machine.
In this post: thread779-651611 They refer to my exact problem, tying it to Windows...
Hi friends,
I've got a Dell Optiplex, win xp pro, 256M RAM, P4 1.6 I think, and it is exhibiting odd behavior for some time now.
The machine boots to desktop just fine, and operates normally for nearly every operation. However, there are a few places that, if accessed, will stymie the...
