Hello everyone
Well, I did what you recommended:
I remove eveything apart from the CPU with heatsink, one stick of ram (had only one anyway), graphics card and power supply.
Doesn't change a thing
I even tried without the HD plug to the power supply and nothing changed.
I check the fuse into...
My computer doesn't want to switch on anymore.
My computer was working fine till yesterday.
He just powered off by itself while using it.
I pressed the start button but nothing happened.
I had another old power supply so I decided to replace it just to check.
The computer started and then after...

I haven't had time to test the problem in safe mode yet.. but I'll do it ASAP.
I also think it is a overheating problem because last time, I opened the box and the cooling radiator (it's not a cooling fan) was warm (but I don't think it was too warm) and I also opened the power supply and the...
Thank you for your reply.
No I haven't uninstall the software and I will do it tonight as soon as I'm at home.
But I doubt it comes from that because I installed it 1 or 2 weeks before the problem occured and it was working fine till 2 weeks ago.
I'm not a guru in computer and I would like to...
Hello ;)
My PC was working fine 2 weeks ago.
Since, I've got a problem which is getting worse everyday.
I started having problems when starting it. I needed to start it 3-4 times in a row because it was shutting down by itself. After 3-4 times, no more problem for the day. But the problem...

I changed ma graphic card with another AGP working one, still does it...
Is it my motherboard which has problem??
Can it comes from the CMOS battery?

Hello,
Well as you told me, i did switch the RAM sticks, put only one, then removed it, and put the other one, then both. I still have the same problem.
My PS is 250V. Is it too low for my mobo?
I also noticed something:
When I run the soft to zero my HD, it takes two steps to erase the disc...
Hello,
I did the test last night:
Removed Sound card, HD, CDrom: still the same 4 short beeps loop.
Then removed the graphic card: I had the normal one long beep and 3 short beeps (according to ASUS guide, it means there's a problem with the video card... normal, it's not there *grin*) then I...
I checked the 3 LEDs on the graphic card. I opened the case, switched on the PC and looked at the LEDs. The green and orange LEDs were on and the red one (error) was always off even during the beeps.
I also reseated the graphic card and checked its connectors.
I'll try tonight to remove...
I thought of that and I'm actually trying to get a working graphic card to try it. I don't have another video card (gave my old one to a friend) so I asked him to borrow it one night. :)

But is it possible that it comes from somewhere else? Power supply, CMOS?
Well I checked that already. On the ASUS mainboard guide, it gives me different types of beeps + their meaning but this one is not in the liste. The closest in the list is one beep + 3 other beeps for video card problems but I'm sure I've got 4 beeps in a row.
Here my MOBO:
OS: Win 98SE
motherboard: ASUS A7V133C
CPU: AMD 800 Mhz
Video card: Leadtek Winfast GeForce2 GTS Pro M64
RAM: 512 SDRAM (2*256)
HD 80Gb IBM
I changed my MOBO about 2 years ago and since I have a strange behoviour from my PC but not really bothering:
When I start my PC, it goes...
Hello ;)
I actually have the same problem. I want to install Win98 on a totally zeroed HD. I formatted it and when I try to boot my computer on the CDRom it says:"NTDLR is missing".
Now, I think it may be because I formatted my HD from Win2000 Repare Console and I formatted it into a...
