I am looking for a noise cancelling handset for an Avaya 54xx telephone. I have never even seen mention of one anywhere.
It will be used in a loud manufacturing plant (with horrible acoustics) to summon assistance to a machine location.
Another question I have.
I have looked into having one...
Thanks merlinmam. Based on the lack of response, I thought I was in uncharted territory - the gap between the old and the new. I thought about the ID delay, but it was working fine before, and when I tested the line with a Caller ID phone, it seemed like the timing just just right.
Time to...
Thank you in advance for your help. Somewhat lengthy description of issue to follow. I must have checked 800 threads trying to find something that discussed this.
I have a Magix customer in key mode that acts like a answering service. They serve as the "office" for a number of non-profits...
I have little Panasonic experience (AT&T/Lucent/Avaya, Nortel, Vertical). I am at a customer with a VB-42050 (824) that would like incoming calls to ring at some additional phones. I have no idea where to start with the programming. I'm sitting at a VB-44223 - 22 button speakerphone.
This is...
Update on the situation. The tech was worried about the weekend service for the customer. They have a 24/7 plant and there was night bell access through the Auto Att. So before he got the suggestions that you'all gave me on this post, he changed all the selector codes and the 0/timeout...
I smell the wood burning. You're living in the solution and not the problem. No matter how it got in or why it's there, just get it out.
Thanks Tommy.
I'm not sure about the attendant programming, but I will pass this on. I'm so vested in this now, I just might tag along the next time he...
I'm not sure how the PRI is provided, but I will pass this on right away because I know he wanted to get some resolution before the weekend.
Maybe I'll have a post with resolution for Monday.
Thanks again,
K2
Thanks for the reply. According to the tech, all the calls are coming in on a PRI. Does the reliable disconnect apply to PRI? I didn't ask, but he never mentioned this problem happening on calls that they know are legitimate. I also don't know how calls are handled during the day.

Never seen this. I have a tech friend (thank God it's not me) who has a Customer with a Legend R6? and Intuity Audix. Based on BOTH the carrier bill, and SMDR info, 800# calls are coming in sporadically over the weekend and holding for hours. No outgoing calls show up on SMDR, so at first...
My customer took over space that had an existing MICS R5. We don't do a lot of Nortel work, but we got them moved in OK with POTS. Now we need to install 2 LD T1's. Initially I just need to get them tested, turned up and used for outdial. The guy that was supposed to be on board to help me...
Belated greetings and thanks to memphisribs, SYQUEST, and dagwoodsystems.
Your posts all pointed to the operating company, which I suspected housed the problem all along. We have resolution! However, I waited to see if we had lasting resolution before I shared the verdict. I now humbly...
Thank you memphisribs and dagwoodsystems. We have the D100 card with an external Verilink T1 ESF CSU. It can do some loopbacks, for and aft, and there are some status lights, but it isn't like the Paradyne CSU/DSU's with all the programming, etc. The status lights haven't told me anything is...
Background: Legend with a PRI having no incoming DID problems, but there are sporadic outgoing completion problems. The PRI has been in place for 3 years problem free until the current problem came up and it seems to have progressed over the last month or so from mildly annoying to service...
I agree with the advice that you have already received. The work you need done could be done by a tech in short order. The only thing I might add is that since you don't seem to have much telecom knowledge, putting ends on the cables might be tricky for you. Jacks may be easier to terminate...
