Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

Hi: I have finally figured it out. I found a site that mentioned changing the outgoing security for the SMTP connector. There are 2 SMTP connectors in the SBS 2000 exchange. On the Virtual connector you can change outbound security, but that is not where I was changing the smarthost from, but...

Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

Sorry: DNS for AD is local. I guess I am missing something, site "A" is a dynamic IP. I can't add an IP to map my DNS to, or I would have to change it constantly. Are you saying to point the DNS entry of site "A" to the IP of the DNS server that hosts site "A"'s...

    AOL Email Problem

Another problem is that AOL is blocking mail from many DSL users. They are blocking entire IP address ranges. It doesn't matter what your domain name is, it is based completely on your IP address. Hope this helps. Glenn

Problem for configuring my first Exchange 2000 on SBS2000

Nicko: I am fighting a similar problem at one of my sites. Do you have your own domain names? How are they being resolved? I am using a service called no-ip. This service maps your dynamic IP to your domain names using an installed service on your server to update their DNS servers with your...

Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

The DNS servers are not mine. If I do the commands: C:\>nslookup >set type=ptr >www.xxx.yyy.zzz I get the domain name back, along with the following: primary name server = ns2.no-ip.com responsible mail addr = hostmaster.no-ip.com serial = 2003092619 refresh = 90 (1 min 30 secs) retry = 120...

Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

Adding a static address does work... Now to the problem of why the reverse DNS doesn't get the right info. Any ideas? Glenn

Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

Hmmmm, To be clear... yes, setting this under the SMTP Virtual Server's Properties > Access > Relay Restrictions. You've selected "Only the list below" and then clicked Add and selected the Domain option I am using DSL (dynamic address), so I can't set a specific IP. However, you...

Exchange 2k to Exch 2k relay problems

I am trying to get an external Exchange server to relay through my local server. I have the outbound SMTP at site "A" set to forward to a Smart Host which is at site "B". This is only to allow Site "B" to forward e-mail to the internet due to AOL blocking ISP's...

Problem for configuring my first Exchange 2000 on SBS2000

Nicko: I think I can help you with your first problem... or at least shed some light. What type of ISP are you using? Is it DSL? I have been fighting a similar problem with DSL at one of my domains. AOL has a problem with SPAM. So they are blocking mail from many ISP's for that reason. Many...

    PIX 501 & PPPoE

I have the latest IOS & PDM installed on a PIX 501 at one of my sites. I just changed to DSL after using a ISP that had a static IP. I am hooking my PIX to the DSL modem via ethernet & am using the PPPoE option for DSL. Everything seems to work OK, except my inbound rules that allowed SMTP...

Start of Authority, AD, 2 Domain Controllers

Hello All: I have recently added a second Domain Controller. After successfully adding the 2nd server, I looked in DNS to make sure all was well. The first thing I noticed was that the SOA on the 2nd DC was not the PDC, but rather the 2nd DC. But on the PDC the SOA remains the PDC. Is this...

    Access-list & subnetting question

    I have a subnet/Access-list question. Let's say I decide to break up an address range (10.10.1.1) into 2 subnets (255.255.255.128). I have 2 ranges: #1) 10.10.1.0 - 10.10.1.127 AND #2) 10.10.1.128 - 10.10.1.255 On my Pix I want to allow full internet access to Net #1 & 1 specific IP address...

help creating Access-list for outside access in to server ports

Sorry if I was vague: I have a PIX 501 IOS 6.2 PDM 2.02. I have a LAN using Small Business Server. The Server has Exchange, Terminal Services, and IIS. I want to be able to access the each of these services from the internet. I am running a service from "No-IP" to associate my IP...

help creating Access-list for outside access in to server ports

I am able to create an access-list to access a server on the inside interface of my pix while using a static IP address. However, I am also configuring a PIX with DHCP client enabled on the outside interface (the PIX get an address from modem). How do I translate from a outside DHCP address to...

    Terminal Services not working

Thanks Yizhar, I was able to gain access to the terminal server using the XP Remote Desktop Client. I wonder what the difference is? Thanks for the DNS advice, I killed the access. My future plans include gaining access to our servers using a VPN, which is why I bought the PIX. I am a little...

    Terminal Services not working

Hi: I have an internal server running Terminal Services that I can't access after installing our PIX 506e. I was able to allow access to SMTP, FTP, DNS (do I need to allow port 53?), WWW. However, using the same access list as all of the rest above Terminal Services still doesn't work, here...
