I just started with scripting and I noticed a basic drive mapping script does not hold the mappings after a restart.
Is there a way to make a script like this permanent or are they mainly used to perform tasks at boot time?
Example:
Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")...
Reinstalling as stated above may replace your Windows folder only, depending on how you step through the setup. During the process you have the option to delete the partitions and recreate and format the partitions or format the existing partitions. If you want to clean all the data off use...
I have checked the logs and have the following results for errors.
I am averaging 3578 soft write errors per tape. It also appears I have a steady, but much smaller number of soft read errors.
Here are my overall lifetime stats.
8.10 TB written
7.72 TB read
527 mounts
9189 seeks

Yes - we have done one reinstall, but no luck.
Friday I had achance to do more testing. Using a dummy.txt file at 1004 MB I had some strange results.
Backing up with hardware compression on claims to compress at 29.1:1 ratio...but actually writes 1004 MB to tape. This would suggest no...
On the Dell forums it looks like many people are having the same issue with this line of drives. My BUE SGmon log shows hardware compression being turned off, never on...even if the job is set to hardware comp.
I will approach this from a driver/firmware direction. Dell appears to not have...
Back Up Exec 9.1 -

So I took an interest in learning VB6 to assist the company and gain experience and knowledge in programming.
We use MSSQL and PSQL for a...
Bear with me since I am a total newbie and may not be able to follow the logic you are trying to impart.
To answer your reply:
I would say adjusting the syntax within a macro created in Excel as well as eventually writing small programs to access sql and psql databases and interface with the...
Can you give me some information as far as why just to go to VB.NET?
I would be learning VB6 to write macros and interface with Excel. Also, writing custom programs for accounting programs running under SQL and PSQL databases.
Would VB.NET perform the same functions and interface well?
I am reading a "Teach yourself in 24 hours" type book which seems to just drop you in the deep end quickly.
Is there a tried and true or "holy grail" book for beginners?
