You can get the worst scenario size for your DB by opening the Mailbox resources drop-down using exchange admin, select all the mailboxes, save the contents and then open the file in excel and total the size to give you the exact space used.

iam not sure why this is happening. I would try reapplying SP4 for exchange and relevent the relelevt hotfixes.
DO you have any users using outlook 2003 ? if yes, then allpy the hotfix for that as well, as that is known to be causging the store to hang.
Well, I managed to resolve my 16GB limitation. Its pretty simple infact..... just reinstall Exchange Enterprise over the top and it will preserve your priv, pub, log file etc. I have done this on our production servers and havent had any issues since.

We are running Exch5.5 on NT4.0 and windowsXP (Outlook2002) on desktops, we have this issue when users are asked if they want to send (confirm) certain files in a mailshot. I want to disable this.

there are two things you can check.
1. check for event ID 1022 (I think) - it will tell you how much white space the server can recover - this should be after the online defrags messages in the app log.

we are running MSEchange5.5 on NT4.0 servers and our IMC's have the character set ISO-8859-1. I need to change this set to ISO-8859-15 but its not on the drop-down list. How can I get this installed. ?
You have 3 options:-
1. Reinstall exchange using enterprise and move mailboxes accross.
2. If thats not the 1st server in site, take offline back of PRIV/PUB. Then install new srever, restore the backed-up databases into this server and patch it.
