I regularly use the Wiggler on text effects... promos
for shows that use shaking text are pretty popular at the moment... ESPN XGames seems to have the copyright on it.
Not saying that Fox audience needs wiggling text to hold their short attention spans... OK I am.
I am so with you on Glitterado and Flaming Pear. You can animate lunarcell to a degree... you can export a Photoshop image with Lunarcell as a flat texture, then wrap it around a sphere in some 3D program. Combined with KPT6 lens flare, Ive made great starscapes.
When using after effects, I capture video (usually) as .avi... although ALL final renders turn out as .mov (Quicktime). Dont ever compress video too much in the beginning... use "Animation" or no compression at all. It takes up more room, but minimal compression is a must at first...
AE has nothing to do with the web. Although it can export Flash, using AE for the web is like using a rocket launcher to hunt squirrels. Dreamweaver is more industry standard from what Ive seen, but 90% of graphics are done with Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator (logos)... Photoshop's ImageReady...
NEVER LISTEN to anyone that says "dont". Sure, its overused. Half the crap I do day to day is overused. But thats how it is... someone innovates and others borrow. Thats most of my paycheck. The best way to learn (Siggraph convention speakers to my boss) say to watch commercials...
p.s. after effects in production, and its brother, creating motion graphics are the BEST books for AE I have seen. Also, classroom in a book is good. Sit, start to finish, bear with it. Put in the time.
p.s. Im not promoting piracy by talking about Kazaa, but who the hell has the money? Go ahead... consider yourself a student and learn with a downloaded version. Of all the programs at FOX and home I love AE. It takes every format from Adobe and Studio Max and Lightwave and Maya... when our...
What youre asking I might know about... I think. I have a TV right above my computer. My graphics vard supports "Mirroring"... which is OK... but my card has to render to both. What Im assuming you want is to be doing your work and look up and see it right on the telly. Youll have...
AE has nothing to do with the web.
Learning AE will greatly help wedding videos, is easy to learn (like an animated Photoshop) and is great for simple editing and adding titles, names, credits, etc.. for wedding videos.
Remember that Photoshop works hand in hand... so go with a font, brush a...
What is the need for uncompressed video? Of course its huge. The only system I use that uses uncompressed video (Im at Fox6 San Diego) is a Discreet Flame system running on a Silicon Graphics dedicated system. No PC or Mac (even G5's) can handle uncompressed video. You mentioned its a...
