Thanks for replying. All userids and passwords are correct because I can connect to the database. I think the problem is on the dba rebuilding and/or changing the database and I have to work with CA and the dba to correct the change.

Complete error: E8604 failed to start backup dbname=archive log ec=backup agent error (208) "cannot read/write file". Also, if anyone has a link to the most common oracle backup errors I would appreciate it. Oracle 9i database using v11.0 agents
If you purchased the maintenance and upgrade protection for the product you will be notified and must request it to be sent to you. But as stated before in one of the other forums, you must order before your contract expires.
I am about to upgrade to BAB9 but have free upgrades for BAB11. Should I go straight to v11 or wait until the problems are ironed out? Also, are the remote agents for v7 running smoothly with BAB9?
I had similar tape errors on the same Msl5026 and discovered I was using the compaq tape drivers. Arcserve sometimes have a problem with this. Disable the compaq drivers and see what happens.
