My MS Access system uses VBA to perform Mailmerge via MS Word.
The system was initially implemented Via XP Pro and Office 2000 and worked fine.
I upgraded to MS Office 2003 [also on XP Proc] and before the mailmerge commenced Word gave a popup warning saying that an SQL query was about to be...
HI,
I have been using CDO to programmatically send Emails, with success. Trouble is that it was always going to be a temporary measure because I had to use a private btinternet account to send them - I couldn't work out to use the CDO emailing stuff with Outlook/Exchange etc. Now I am using...
I finally got it working!
Downloaded the latest BIOS. That allowed me to set the first 4 sata ports to RAID and the last 2 to IDE. Connected my SSD OS drive into SATA port 5 and was able to boot the OS. Then XP detected the RAID controller and I loaded the driver (again). THe RAID 0 pair were...
Just spent the last few weeks attempting to use the onboard RAID system on the subject mobo. It's a brand new board and I think I have exhausted all the sata port combinations to get it going.
I've tried a couple of different XP pro systems and also tried the originally supplied RAID driver and...
Sorry for delay pwise I have been struggling without effect to get onboard RAID going on a cursed Asus mobo.
Domains are listed here:

The UK carriers are the last set.
I couldn't get O2 or Vodaphone to carry my emailed text to the...
I've got the various cellphone domains etc and tried to send emails to a couple of cellphones, without success.
Just now I am looking at an SMS gateway company called Kapow which seems to be what I need.
Thanks Guys
Deek
Thanks for the link pwise..
Does anybody know the situation here in the UK? . The major SMS suppliers in the UK include Vodaphone, O2, Orange. I presume that I would have to open an account with one of them in order to start sending texts. Any more info about how to go about this would be most...
Hi,
My client has got Office 2000 pro.
I have implemented emailing (Access 2000)from this system but now there is a requirement to output text messages to Cellphones.
Have you guys any clues about how to go about this? Googling etc seems to lead me nowhere.
Thanks,
Deek
With new built system with 4GB RAM and 'nothing' running, Task Manager shows Explorer continually page faulting. The max RAM usage shows at under 0.75 GB. Is it truly swapping stuff out to the disk? If so, why should it be happening with all the spare RAM available?
Thanks
Deek
Used my original XP Pro CD to load up the new system - had to put a W98 cd in the reader to prove upgradeable status.
Because I threw the product key sticker out with the old case(yes, stupid thing to do) I resorted to reading the Key from the 'Unattend.txt' file on the CD and it loaded fine to...
Thanks for all advice and tips guys.
Just checked my XP cd and it is the Upgrade version so that should be ok.
My old mobo had died so I am basically left with just the hard drives from the old system. The CPU was an old Athlon model so I dumped that along with the rest. I made a mistake there...
I would do the clean XP install if I didn't have some years' worth of purchased and installed software.
The IDE is tiny by today's standards; I used it to load the os when I was experimenting with RAID on the sata drives - and ,as usual, didn't get around to doing a 'proper job'.
I've got...
Hi,
I am building a replacement system and want to copy my XP pro system to it. I'll be retaining the two 120Gb sata data disks but want to transfer the OS and programs onto a new 128Gb SSD from the old 8Gb IDE drive I used before.
Can I just use Ghost to copy the OS etc to the SSD drive...
I want to send the email straight to MS Exchange, bypassing outlook. Sorry if my prev post was unclear. So what I am looking for are the interface details.
I am already bypassing Outlook and Exchange, and using a BT domestic ISP, BTinternet. Our SBS Exchange connects to the BT business account...
Hi,
As part of a Windows 2003 SBS system I've got an XP pro box in the domain, operating as a file server and an email sender. IE it supports a central (back end) MS Access database and regularly scans certain tables to see if any emails have been set up by other parts (front ends) of the...
Thanks Remou, that works a treat.
Hi iojbr,
I have a setup similar to yours I believe - A 27MB(a lot of VBA) Fe on 5 desktops linking remotely to a +17MB(solely tables) Be on a file server. There are no operational tables local to the Fe machines.
On the Fileserver box itself I have...
