Congrats!! Its a good feeling aint it. Makes all the effort worthwhile.
I looked on Amazon a while ago and I seem to think it is sometime in September.
I am in the US on holiday in Late Sept so I was going to get one while I was over there. A lot cheaper than Rip off Britain. I normally buy...
I took the support exam about a month ago.
Out of the four CCNP 640 exams I believe that two had been updated by Cisco (BSCI and BCRAN) and these were definitely the trickiest. The switching and support exams were very straight forward.
If you have passed the other three exams and understand...
try Azlan. I have used them in the past at there Coventry Training Location. When I did the BCRAN course there were only three delegates. The instructor got through the material with enough time to do some exam prep. We all took and passed the exam on the Friday lunchtime.
London Location...
Hi
I found this probably the toughest exam. I had done a fair bit of ISDN type stuff a few years ago. Work paid for the BCRAN course and I did the exam on the Friday lunchtime at the end of the course. It was pretty tough as there were a lot of Modem type questions.
1 simulator question that...
I have covered the BGP content in a previous post if you do a search.
In summary understand the terminology, what the protocol does and where it should be used and you cant go far wrong. I seem to remember there was not too many command questions on the 901 exam apart from the simulator...
If you just want the cert then a bootcamp is the quickest way.
If you want to learn something then the Cisco Academy plus experience is the best way.
Alternatively if you gwork in networking and get hands on then why not try self study using Cisco press books and Sybex as a second reference...
Hi
I dont think you have anything to lose by targeting prospective companies directly. Likewise I dont think you have anything to lose by getting your CV seen by as many agencies as possible. I know a lot of people who have got good jobs via agencies.
I have recently passed my CCNP, and am...
Hi
I sat the BSCI 640-901 in Feb and passed with about 910/1000. My recollection of the exam was that the BGP questions were not too in depth.
Learn the Attributes and the 4 types of attribute (Well Known Mandatory etc). Also the order that BGP will use them to select a route. This is a...
I work in a network team within a Global IT services company doing mostly design with some hands on. In my view the company is toooo big and technology is driven by cost and to remain competitive costs are driven down and hence cutting edge technology is the first to go.
I would recommend that...
I think that is the case on all of Cisco's exams. They ask a few meaningless questions testing someones abililty to memorise worthless information rather than examin if they actually understand the technology enough to use in real life, hence the fact that there are companies such as...
thanks for the info dogbert2
Do you know how different the content is from the old CCDA compared to the new one (640-861 DESGN).
I would imagine the design questions will be similar.
FRom your note my understanding is that its the CCNP design exam that is crap.
I have seen the Boson test...
Can anyone advise.
I am planning on taking my CCDA asap. I already have CCNP so the technical stuff should be no issues.
I am looking for some reference material for the new design exam 640-861 DESGN. Looking on Amazon it doesn't appear that any books will be out until september.
Can anyone...
I Passed the switching exam in Dec, BSCI in Feb. I took the courses for these exams (BCMSN and BCSN) in 2000 so required a bit of revision, although I do a bit of hands on in my job so it wasn't too painful.
I then did the BCRAN course in March and sat the exam on the 5th day of the course...
Just passed the 640-606 exam with 902/1000.
My thoughts were that it was the easiest of the exams with most of the material being covered on the other CCNP exams.
59 questions most of which were straight forward.
No commands to type in, a few drag and drops etc.
That was my last CCNP exam...
when I took the switching exam I would say that I cant seem to remember many questions that required commands to be entered. There are no simulations in the soon to be retired switching exam.
I would compile a list of all the commands in the Sybex or Cisco book and learn them parrot fashion...
Here is a list of switches and cofig modes i.e Set based or IOS, and where they are designed to be placed. It should be a good guide.
1200 SET Access Layer
1700 Menu
1900 IOS (Menu) Access Layer
2820 IOS (Menu) Access Layer
2900XL IOS (Menu) Access Layer
2901...
I have taken/passed switching, routing and remote access and of the three switching was by far the easiest.
No simulations, and only about 2 commands to type in.
A bit on Multicast but most of it was standard LAN stuff.
