I have a network wit approx 200 workstations. Dedsktops are windows 2k pro and windows xp pro. when a user logs onto novel it authenticates fine, but then it also asks for a windows logon. this would require that all 200 users have a profile on every machine. is there a way around this. is...- writemem

ok try this conf t int m1 multilink min-links 2 i would leave the load threshold command out still. i just don't think it's needed. the above command will force the multilink to make both active. silly question you have verified that s1/2 is up up right? -

I have a Multilink in service on my network and i don't use the "multilink load-threshold 3 either" command. i took a look at cisco's site and it seems like that tells it to add the multilink after a specific load is reached. by nature of that it won't allow both to be up at all... -

I believe in order for this to work as a true multilink your ISP needs to configure it on their access router as well. you must also be sure that both t's are set for encap ppp, ppp-multilink and multilink-group x. where x is the group number. In this case most likely 1. I would lean... -

It would seem to me that adding the switch would only add latency. If you had a router capable of many serial interfaces Such as a 7200 series you could connect 4 T-1's to the router and the 4 FR circuits to the same router. what this will do is cut down on the amount of transition points... -
What is HELO?
I'm not sure if this will help but i remember that you can telnet to your mailserver on port 25 (smtp) and it will connect. You can issue a HELO command and it will let you specify user to send to your reply address. That's about all i can remember it does have to do with smtp though. at least... -

1605r Router
Good point. As routergod so correctly states (thanks Don) the 1605 has 2 e ports. you would connect the cable/dsl modem to one and your lan to the other. need more help with the configs let me know. Good Luck, Mark
