Not really Outlook I suspect, but connected all the same.
Friday I ran my "spybot" and "ad-aware" routines as normal and then left my machine running all w/e to do an extensive defrag.
Today everything is finished but when I start Outlook it can't find the one of my pst files, (I normally keep...
I have the following code in one of my web pages, which has been posted and (I believe) working for a couple of years.
function win1()
{
window.open("name_of_page.html","","height=700,width=350,left=10,top=10");
}
I look at the page fairly regularly to check its consistency but today I was...
I just upgraded my laptop and now have XP pro. Along the way I also got MSoffice 2003. I want to set Outlook as the default email client but I only see outlook express in the list of possible defaults. I did the phone registration not the web registration because outlook wouldn't see the web...
I'm running Outlook 2000 in workgroup mode. I don't really need to do this becuase I don't share across a network, except that I do want to share information with my PDA. As I already said above, that's another problem right now which may be connected to the address book issue. The PDA will...

Thanks for taking an interest.
I looked at this. I already have "personal address book" from this option and don't see "outook address book" in the list of options to load.
Incidentally I tried a back door approach through "Control panel|Mail" but when I right click properties the message...
Some time ago I had some issues trying to get my PDA to sync with Outlook. (It still won't but I guess that's another issue). During the attempts to debug I reinstalled Outlook (I'm using 2000). When it booted it had a new .pst so I had to look around for the old one. Eventually I found it...
Thanks but I tried enabling everything I can find and still no joy. I did wonder whether I'm running out of temporary space because my hard drive is chocker (only about 150 Mb free) but it seems like a stretch.
I do get a yellow triangle message which says "... may not display properly ...
I posted an Excel based calculation on the web. I wrote the underlying Excel routine on my Laptop and published as a web page. I edited the page and put it on the server.
I can read the server version from my Desktop but not from my Laptop, which seems strange I can still read it on the...
Your network or the network copy may be set to "read only" which could give an indication that someone else "may" be accessing the same file. You probably just need to check your rights with the network administrator, or suck the file down from the server anyway and save as...
Thanks a bunch!!!!
The cut and paste thing never ocurred to me and it's so obvious. I do it all the time with text. I tried it with PhotoDraw and bingo. Just what I need.

I need to create an independent net-portable graphic (GIF, PNG, JPG etc) from a chart in Excel so that I can post the chart on a web page without linking it to the rest of the page or the calculations. I've gone through all the help files I can think of. Is it possible? Please does anyone...
Thanks for everyone's interest.
It does seem as though the specific mouse is at fault.
I had already done all the obvious things like running scandisk, unloading all my background apps, virus checks, defrags. I went "under the hood" and cleaned everything I could find (no fried...
I run a Gateway Family 6 machine; 128MB RAM; Win98SE.
For some weeks I've been hanging, several times a day. I tried disconnecting from my Network, defrags, AntiVirus checks, unloading all my background programs, and more, but no joy.
The symptom was always a slow down in the Mouse response...
If you have been spending time on-line, it wouldn't hurt to check for ad-ware. There is a free utility called Ad-Aware from Lavasoft, which you can download from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ or http://www.cnet.com/software/0-806181-8-7309404-1.html You'll be amazed at how much junk it finds...
All,
Thanks for your interest.

The repair tool worked just fine. How come MS doesn't tell you where to find it? It would have saved me ages of frustration.

I am connected to a network but all the pst files are on my hard drive.
Now, unfortunately after importing the...
Aargh!! This morning I started Outlook (2000) and it said it couldn't read the files. I had to create a new pst file but then there is no history, nor any of yesterday's work and unanswered mail. No problem .. import all the pst files I can find and I'm sure to update everything ? NOT!!
I...
I would recommend uninstalling v9 first and then installing 8. I had the a problem with Quattro in the v9 suite and did just that for Quattro only.
The only problem was that the v8 install includes some files (internet interfacing?) which you can't bypass and which are outdated by now, and it...
Along with others (see thread68-444883) I like to display an Excel sheet on a Web Page but I'm running into the matter of incompatibility with Netscape and Opera browsers.
Does anyone know how to get round this? Is there any html or java code which can fudge the compatibility?
I'm pretty sure...
Just an idea! Is the file you are working on still called Book1.xls?
Before you work on the file, saveAs "a_new_name.xls". Then try again.
