    MPIO failover among multiple nics

Does the Linux (RHEL4 update 4) iscsi MPIO allow failover between interfaces? If I have a single interface set-up with iscsi multipathing to my storage array working, is it possible to add another interface to my host as a failover interface? Does Linux MPIO allow failover among multiple nics?

How do you load balance iscsi MPIO across host interfaces?

Right. It's the Linux Red Hat software iscsi initiator and MPIO packages.

How do you load balance iscsi MPIO across host interfaces?

I'm running RHEL4 update 4. I've installed the iscsi-initiator-utils rpm (4.0.3.0-4), device-mapper rpm (1.02.07-4.0.RHEL4) and device-mapper-multipath-0.4.5-21.RHEL4 rpm. I've got iSCSI MPIO working fine between by Linux host and Netapp storage array. My question - Is it possible to add an...

How to install iSCSI software initiator on RHEL4 (64-bit)

Thanks all. I took the advice of itsp1965. Network Appliance has great documentation outlining how to get it going. I got everything working fine. Cheers

How to install iSCSI software initiator on RHEL4 (64-bit)

Wouldn't that software need to come from the OS (host) providor? In this case Red Hat Linux. The storage providor is Network Appliance btw. I know Microsoft's iscsi software initiator has multipath options built-in. I'm thinking that the Linux initiator must have similar options? Cheers

How to install iSCSI software initiator on RHEL4 (64-bit)

Thanks! There was no mention on how to set-up iscsi multipathing. Anyone have any experience doing that with Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

How to install iSCSI software initiator on RHEL4 (64-bit)

I was wondering if anyone has performed a Red Hat Linux Enterprise iSCSI install before? I need guidence on how to install and configure the iSCSI software initiator on RHEL4 update 5 (64-bit). I'd like to set up iSCSI multipathing for redundency as well. If you can either provide documentation...

    2003 Domain Move

Well, you had mentioned that the AD domain name had nothing to do with the SMTP domain name (thanks, but I was aware of that). I wasn't asking about that. I do know how Exchange and RUS policies operate, but appreciate your comment on me being able to run Exchange migration tool with an...

    2003 Domain Move

Right. That wasn't what I was asking. The situation is as follows: Source AD Domain: domain1.com Source Exchange Domain: exchange.com Target AD Domain: domain2.com Target Exchange Domain: exchange.com So, I'd be migrating users, groups, computers from source domain to target domain. If I have...

How to migrate from one domain to another

Like everything else in IT I think it depends on the situation. As I mentioned I've run that config for years in a small branch office with an extremely small # of users/mailboxes. Yes, when you're dealing with multiple administrators with different duties, hundreads/thousands of users/mailboxes...

    2003 Domain Move

Thanks. I don't want to change the Exchange mail domain nsme. If I have to install a new installation of Exchange in new domain, can I still call the new installation of Exchange the same mail domain as the first?

How to migrate from one domain to another

Actually, don't worry about answering that. I'd like to keep the thread on topic. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to perform the domain migration, including Exchange?

How to migrate from one domain to another

Well, that's not entirely true :) Yes,it's best practice to separate the two, but I've run Exchange on a DC for many years without any problems. What are some of the most compelling reasons not to run Exchange on a DC?

    Exchange Question

What he's trying to say is that you set up an Exchange recipient policy for your email domain. The recipient update policy defines which email domains Exchange will accept mail for.

    2003 Domain Move

Some good stuff. What about if Domain 1 housed an Exchange 2003 server. Will ADMT ensure that the Exchange server will function the same in the new domain? The mail domain would be remaining the same.

How to migrate from one domain to another

I just did a quick read up on domain rename. This is one of the prerequisites of the domain rename tool: Exchange must not be installed on domain controllers To use the domain rename operation, Exchange must not be installed on any domain controllers (if Exchange is loaded on a DC deinstal...

How to migrate from one domain to another

Thanks for the quick reply 58sniper. Although a domain rename is possible, it's a complex process that frankly I'd rather not attempt. The infrastructure is on VMware ESX, so spinning up a new Windows server and building a new domain is not difficult. It's the migration of the users, groups and...

How to migrate from one domain to another

Here's the rundown. Company external domain name is domain.com. When they designed their Active Directory (AD) they also called it domain.com. Their Exchange 2003 organization domain is domain.com. They'd now like to migrate to a new AD domain and call it corp.domain.com. My question is what is...

    EcGetMessageProp failed with error 0x8004010

I understand the purpose of the .stm file. The reason it looks like the problem is on the client side because other IMAP users are having no problems retrieving their mail without any errors. It's just this one user. Other users are also using Thunderbird/IMAP with zero issues.

    EcGetMessageProp failed with error 0x8004010

xmsre - thanks for the response. I think you might be confusing IMAP with MAPI. The user doesn't have a MAPI client. He's connecting to our Exchange server with an IMAP client (Thunderbird). I've turned up IMAP logging on our Exchange server and notice he's the only one getting the error aonodi...
