one thing you can try doing is installing spybot and running that, it has a network fix in it that seems to work a lot of the time.

ok Sorry it took so long to figure this out. I ended up reformatting my computer and it worked for a while. but then it started having trouble again after I installed some PTP(person to person) software. so I removed all the network addapters and the tcp/ip and ran spybot. It now is working.
