If you have no need for your samba log file, then go ahead and delete it... I wouldn't recommend linking it to null, since you might come across a problem down the line and actually want to see what it has to say. If you do want to keep your logs, you might want to look into logrotate... you...

To expand on pupu's post, what you want to do is use authorization keys to use instead of passwords... You can password protect the key, so you'll need to auth once to a local auth server (for the current shell/process) or you can leave the password blank... I've heard of people using this...

Try using 'du' to determine which files are taking up all your space... You'll probably get a lot of use out of the -sh args.

I wouldn't have got as close to passing as I did if I hadn't spent the last year working as an admin tracking down problems... and some work I did on an embedded system helped too. It was definitely tougher. I got through 101 with no study. 102 I got a book for and it helped. 201... well, no...

I got spontaneous and took the 201 exam... probably should have given myself a day or two to study, though. I failed by three questions. :( Will take it again when I have some money. I don't like that fail on my record.

You can turn on the server status page; it will link the pid to the page, vhost, and requesting client (among other things). Be sure to look at the access controls as this may not be something you want the world to see.

The system had UPnP off, but SSDP was on... We'll see if that fixes it. I couldn't find anything on UPnP firing off PROPFIND requests...
