I've got a couple AA's and a BA... I don't think I know the subject matter as well as I needed to know what was on the LPI tests...
They're both certifications; but a bachelor's degree costs a lot more in money and time than a cert like LPI does.
AIX isn't LPI... AIX isn't even a linux...
Just installed the latest version of mysql (there's a couple vulns out today) and when I start it, I get this error:
/usr/bin/safe_mysqld: 5: command not found
It seems to start up fine otherwise; no errors in the log file... But I'd like to figure this one out... anyone else seen this?
If you have no need for your samba log file, then go ahead and delete it... I wouldn't recommend linking it to null, since you might come across a problem down the line and actually want to see what it has to say.
If you do want to keep your logs, you might want to look into logrotate... you...
To expand on pupu's post, what you want to do is use authorization keys to use instead of passwords... You can password protect the key, so you'll need to auth once to a local auth server (for the current shell/process) or you can leave the password blank... I've heard of people using this...
I wouldn't have got as close to passing as I did if I hadn't spent the last year working as an admin tracking down problems... and some work I did on an embedded system helped too.
It was definitely tougher.
I got through 101 with no study. 102 I got a book for and it helped. 201... well, no...
I got spontaneous and took the 201 exam... probably should have given myself a day or two to study, though. I failed by three questions. :(
Will take it again when I have some money. I don't like that fail on my record.
I'm trying to get samba to require strong passwords (e.g., min length, case, digits, etc.). I've been trying to get smbpasswd to honor pam_cracklib, but it just seems to ignore any changes I make to /etc/pam.d/samba...
Any suggestions on where to look? I've been googling for hours with no...
You can turn on the server status page; it will link the pid to the page, vhost, and requesting client (among other things). Be sure to look at the access controls as this may not be something you want the world to see.
When we try to put the laptop into standby, it appears to go into standby then come back out and gives an error that a device won't let it go into standby. If we unplug the device, it goes into standby just fine.
The device is a data aquisition device (DAQ). We'll be hooking this up to...
Like I said, manual interaction is not an option. This is going to be doing automated data retrieval from the device, which we also don't have an option about.
We have a system we need to have scheduled to go into standby at certain times, which is working except that we also have a USB device attached that won't let us go into standby.
Different operating systems and manual user interaction are not an option, unfortunately.
Anyone know of some sort...
