thanks but i don't see any improvement .. still on 80% is there something else ?

as for now I'm using win xp sp2 with Nvidia network card my Network Utilization shows i'm using 80% ( this was improved from 62% by disabling some of the NIC features like "Raw control" "optimize for troughput" etc ) the question is..if it is possible to make it even faster ?

well....I have tried switching IDE connectors ( only one is IDE ) and also disabling RAID in the BIOS.. still no change . its seems like the manufacture design the IDE channel only for Optical drives devices ( strange but it doesn't recognize anything else ). well... according to the...

well....i haven't run any diagnostic tool to verify it but, i had remove one of the sticks ( have two each 256MB ) with a new one . maybe it's something i need to consider.. I'll give it a check for elimination sake .

wahnula ..yes i have tried swapping CD's and cd/dvd drives schtek , i have also tried different HD drives linney , sorry but i didn't mention : when i'm trying to do a simple install, XP installation doesn't recognize my hard drive..(this is why i use F6 ) BTW this is according to gigabyte...

well ... it appears that i can change linksyss' LAN ip address..the one that can't be change is the DHCP address .. well now that i configure it to have 10.x.x.x/24 ip address type everything is working properly .. 10x for the pointing that out .. :->

hey.. I'm aiming to find in my volume only FOLDERS that have been modified in the last 14 days (using "find" and "-mtime"). also if my path is /mypath/folders_to_check/ , I want find to look only in that path and not go recursive . . my main goal is to find the folders as fast as possible...
