Guys,
I did the CatOS to IOS conversion using the Cisco doc and it all went fine. I would advise using a Flash Card or PCMCIA card to load the new image rather than TFTP or FTP. Also make sure you change where to boot your image from i.e. bootvar.

got another issue, I've a 64Mb PCMCIA flash card and copied an IOS image onto it via my PC. I then placed it into the slot0 of my 6509 Sup II but when I do a "dir slot0:" or sh slot0:" I get an error.

we're having issues on our Network. I did a sniff of the LAN and captured 256Mb worth of data. I can see alot of TCP frame retransmissions. Is there a way to set up a filter so that all that is displayed are the retransmitted TCP frames?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks for that it clears alot up in my mind.
Anyway what I did was;
1. delete disk0: "old IOS image"
2. copied the new ios to disk0:
copy ftp disk0: "new IOS image"
etc.
All seemed to go well.
2. Once complete could see from a sh disk0: the new IOS was present.

O.K. got her up by typing;

then when I got into enable mode went into conf t;
config>boot config bootflash:s72033-jk9sv-mz.122-17d.SXB6.bin
so now its up on one Supervisor, do I have to do the same with the other...

I'm in a bit of a panic. Was trying to erase the config on my 6513 by typing;
erase startup config
but now the Switch is in ROMMON mode and I dont know how to get it back...!!!
