    Xerox Printing Question

Danswindow, I too am wondering if you adjusted the Tek Color settings in the Print Preferences area. Did you use the Automatic, Office Color, or Black & White settings? Nevertheless, impressive research. Nick

Illy for logo but letterhead in Word

Well we found a method- I wouldn't have expected it though. Powerpoint was used. The ai. file was copied and pasted into Powerpoint. then that file was brought into Word within a header. We didn't really do anything else. This isn't going to an offset printer. We are printing on either a big...

Networking and an Active X error message

I am attempting to log on to my computer at work from my laptop at home. I am new to this so I hope this doesn't sound overly simple. Once I get to the Remote Web Workplace screen (from which I should be able to select from the different computers in the office) I get the following... (and...

Illy for logo but letterhead in Word

Dropkickmurphy, I looked at the site and had to call them. This add-in is not to be used when importing a file. It is strictly for use when creating the graphic from scratch within Office. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Nope. Not going that route. At least it isn't that expensive. Thank you. Bert, Thanks...

Illy for logo but letterhead in Word

I've read some ideas in searches about ai. file sinto Word. Looking for some recent opinions. I have CS2 and Word 2003 with WinXP Pro. The logo that we've created is an ai. file. Part of this was brought in from Photoshop so we have one small raster element. If need be, we can recreate this in...

    Fonts not embedding properly

apepp, You've confirmed what I've been reading these past few days. I haven't tried your last suggestion yet. I'll give that a shot. Thanks. Nick

    Fonts not embedding properly

I'll often make a file in Illy with text (as well as invoices from Quickbooks). I'll then Print the file as a pdf so I can email the client the sample/proof. Often the font gets changed on their end- thereby ruining the effect of our work. In the Print dialog box, I'll leave the following...

How should I respond to idiots?

Ok, this isn't about a dog, but my mom. She has a horrible sense of direction. Doesn't really listen well to what others say, and has a GPS in her car. But won't read the manual or let me help her set it up. (It came with the car package.) She occassionally goes on a driving trip north into...

    Get back at evil Junk-Mailers

I admit it- I'm looking forward to my next visit to the post office. I'm trying to figure out the heaviest small items that will still fit in the envelope. The greatest bang for their buck? Nick

Placing, linking, embedding and file size

I should have known! Just for the record, the files are now about 1.3 linked and about 10.5 for the embedded file. Thank you very much. Nick

    Get back at evil Junk-Mailers

I also send back their junkmail in their postage paid envelopes. I also end up with less in my recycling bin.

Access 2003 and printing directly on envelopes

I hadn't planned on using Word, but often do so with client databases that come in from Excel. That's what I'll do. Thank you for the help. Nick

Access 2003 and printing directly on envelopes

I am new to Access and am just starting to build a database of clients. Sometimes I print on labels but prefer to print directly on the envelopes. I'm learning the terms, but my searching produces info on how to print on labels. I'm trying to print each record (simple name and address info)...

Placing and then Transforming an image

That's what I wanted to know. Good to know about the symbols, too. Thanks. Nick

Placing, linking, embedding and file size

I just started a similar thread but felt this was different enough to warrant its own. Something just isn't clicking in my understanding of linking vs. embedding. Example for comparison: I have a 9.3mb .psd file that I place in a new Illy file. The artboard is 8.5x11. I make no adjustments...

Placing and then Transforming an image

I have an image that I have Placed and just linked to an illy file. If I just link and not embed the image I believe that I am saving on the size of the file. But what happens when I use the Transform Effect to then put that same linked file multiple times on the artboard? Does my file size...

Word 2003 and reversal of Hebrew text

Correct. But with that difference in mind, it still reversed everything. With it set to read and write in Hebrew, it still placed the letters in the opposite order. Today I had to save each of the Word files as pdf's. After I save the file and then save as a pdf, I'll close both files. If I...

    Computer side business

I guess I could add that even if you just bought one of the machines, you would still need to set up a merchant account to process the transactions and make the deposit into your account. Different companies use different hardware and there may be a conflict which could simply be a pain for you...
