No transmit from new laptop microphone using Jabber

Checked all the settings upon installation. I configure Jabber routinely for customers and assist them with troubleshooting. Never have I had a consistent situation like this. Next week I'll bring the USB headset from the office home just to try it.

    Sad

With the new site I've been getting an email alert for every single post. Evidently I was subscribed to everything, like this forum. Not a big deal, I just Unwatch each forum that I wouldn't typically visit. I just saw a moving co. ad posted in another forum. Looked again later and it was...

No transmit from new laptop microphone using Jabber

I don't want to use the headset. I said that works for reference.

No transmit from new laptop microphone using Jabber

I had Jabber working on my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop. I recently bought a replacement Lenovo laptop. With the new Windows 11 laptop, there's no transmit from the laptop's microphone. It works fine with Google Voice and Teams, just not with Jabber. Did the usual, checked/verified audio settings...

    POTS / Modem replacement

My bad - the initial post does say the callers are prompted to enter information, which is via DTMF. When I saw 'Dialogic 4 port modem' I was assuming data transmission of some sort, The term Modem threw me. I concur with what Tommy said.

    POTS / Modem replacement

It's been awhile since I've used them so I don't recall - but if the Grandstream ATAs have a T.38 option (they probably do) I'd enable that. That, or G.711. I don't know if one is recommended over the other.

    POTS / Modem replacement

We also have some Cisco ATAs, but prefer to keep fax lines on our legacy AT&T 5ESS, at least for now as we migrate to Cisco phones. The ATAs don't have issues with calls going through, but will still sometimes not reliably send or receive a fax. That's even with the recommended codec settings...

    Sending Fax by eMail

Unless you have a good quality analog phone line from the central office, faxing typically has difficulty these days. I had to order one from the CO for our I.T. department for modem access to routers in case the network went down. We couldn't even use analog lines from our legacy AT&T switch...

    End of Epabx

I worked with one of those, I think a 6304 a few years ago, a nice small system with a lot of features, especially for the price. Yes it certainly is a good alternative to hosted, and I guess it could be considered to be today's on site PBX, that can still analog CO lines.

    Tek-Tips - New forum style

You're welcome - it appears I was Watching some forums that I did not realize. Such as a few of the Avaya forums, I never got email alerts about new posts until Tek-Tips changed to the new site. I looked at the forum list, I thought maybe the clouds on the left of the name that weren't greyed...

    End of Epabx

So many acquisitions over the years - what started as Rolm became IBM - Siemens - Unify - Mitel. In this area Siemens/Unify's presence has diminished quite a bit I believe.

Date of Iwatsu exiting the new CPE market

I thought the Iwatsu facility in Japan stopped manufacturing products in 2009, after a tsunami damaged the property. At least up until a few years ago there were still quite a few Iwatsu TDM systems out there, a few were sizeable with different sites networked together. There's some with their...

    Tek-Tips - New forum style

I now seem to be getting an email for every new post in any forum. Same after I went into preferences and chose my email options. Maybe I need to select the Unsubscribe option in the email?

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

Hello, If you modified the key map itself every phone that uses that key layout will have lost their previous key layout. You could modify a phone individually to have a unique layout, but I think if the system reloaded it would revert the phone back to the standard key assignment layout. I...

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

I can't tell by looking at my post if the file was uploaded. Will try to upload the 2 I removed from the .zip here. I renamed them accordingly.

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

Hey sbscu - I made a new .zip file. I'm able to at least open the .pdf files within. This particular folder I re-copied from the CD doesn't have the EMML reference doc, but does have AMO reference which is probably more relevant. But, the .zip file exceeded the upload limit to I removed the...

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

Hi sbcsu, last night I tried to look at some files again, and it's saying the .rar is corrupt. I'll need to access the old laptop with the CD drive again to see what I can do. Worse case maybe not compress the files.

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

sbcsu - I found a CD from 2005 and was able to get 'Hicom300' and 'Hicom300H' information from it. Unfortunately it's just the individual.pdf files. You'd need to access each one and rename the file. The CD has a menu function that would access the corresponding .pdf. May be info you already...

    Configuring ROLMPHONE 400 on Hicom 300 E

Ok - I'll check to see if I still have any of those CDs, and hopefully a laptop with a working CD drive!
