Hey has anyone had to force a set of rights to log files before? For example I need to for 640 on certain log files on SOL10 due to securtiy concerns. I thought that the sticky bit might do it, but I am not familiar enough with it to be sure. Please HELP!! Thanks Chris

Here is the scenario... I wanted to reconfigure the file system so that I could utilize the disk space better and so that I could mirror my drives. I followed some instructions on how to move each slice over to a new drive and then finally move the root partition over to a new drive. Everything...

Thanks everyone for all your comments and suggestions. Ultimately I could not fix it by delteing files or restarting etc... So I rebuilt the slice on another disk and then moved the data. It is back to normal now.

I'll have to wait till after hours. The data appears to be intact at this point so I will be bringing down Oracle and then running a dump before I can unmount or do anything else.
