are you sure your having the problem with zooming in? It seemed to work fine for me, I zoomed in until it was a big s curve and came to a crawl.
it will flip upside down if you zoom out too much though. What happens is your x and yscale goes below 0, which then keeps going into negative values...

Not sure I understand you correctly, but you can put one clip (child) inside another clip (parent) and then resize the child without effecting the parent or its contents.
Text is touchy, if there is any resizing or stretching to a clip that the text is inside - even if it's a clip inside...
you could try a dynamic soultion loading the image from an xml file or some server script.
the person could upload the new jpg along with updating say the xml file (change a path using notepad). then when flash runs it reads the new path and loads the new jpg

I'm pretty sure there's no way to allow the user to save a file to a certain path and then allow them to retrieve it for use on another computer using shared objects.

The CD-ROM will house a collection of images and the goal is to let the users create a slide show/presentation on the cd that they can then load up (perhaps from a different machine) that shows which images they selected along with custom settings, notes, ect.
I'm working on a stand-alone application for CD-ROM that needs to run from a flash projector, without using director. The main issue I'm having is trying to allow users to save data for use at a later date.
Is there anyway for flash to create and store a .txt file on the user's machine for them...
