I have a legacy database that I need to migrate to another program. The database contains company names and addresses. The new program requires the company name be unique. This was not the case with the legacy database.
I have the data in an excel spreadsheet, and I can find the duplicates...
Hi pelajhia
Thanks for your response. I should have given a better description of the application. I use Crystal to connect diverse database tables and then create output in Excel that can be imported into a custom database running from MS SQL.
So depending on who I happen to be working for...
My question is this, how exactly does the Crystal program decide on what field type to specify for data in a spreadsheet, if that field is a mixed bag of data or missing data altogether? Is it based on whatever data happens to be in the first row?
I am using Crystal XI to hook up a different...
To get editable text exported from Crystal - you will need to do the export in either Crystal version 8.5 or Crystal v11. In v11, you can opt for Word editable rtf and then you can edit the text.
I personally don't have Crystal v10 - so someone here might be able to test exporting to Word to...
I am using Crystal version 9 and have written a report that provides a hyperlink to a government web site if a particular criteria is met. Now, the link works great directly out of Crystal in preview mode, works fine when exported to MS Word, but manages to get truncated in the IE address field...
Addendum:
From my experimentations, the export to Word problem seems to be Crystal Version 9 specific. My clients called Crystal and were told that they are aware of the problem and if enough people complained, it may end up on a bug report for the programmers to address.
So, I guess if you...
You are correct of course, but my problem is that the clients have lost the ability to do something they had come to depend on with R&R. (the reporting program for their legacy software product)
The report in question pulls in a variety of fields and within the detail section contains a...
This has been suggested to no avail - basically this is a simple report, but a text export takes out all the column formatting etc. They want to maintain at least some of the formatting without reconfiguring the massive amount of data everytime they run the report. The site has a rather...
When a Crystal Report is exported to MS Word, is there a way to edit the document in the normal fashion without all text being entered into text boxes? This question has been asked in one of these forums recently, I could not refind this thread, so I am asking again, as one of my clients is at...
The error message received is:
crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The report is being run from the machine in which the software has been installed. The FYXGetFiscalQuarter() formula is in a subreport, and the larger the output the more...
Under Crystal v9 Formula Function there is a section called Visual Basics UFLS. The formula I would love to utilize is:
FYXGetFiscalQuarter ({ALLOCEXP.ExpDate},7 ,1 )
(This provides the FY Qtr for an expense date when the fiscal year starts July (7) and the first day is the first (1))
I have...
I would like to use the keyword search parameter to limit the report output to items whose summary description contain a word or words entered in a single parameter prompt at the end user side.
The listing of items is vast, unique, and in some cases have decriptions many pages long. There will...
Would like to be able to search for particular words within large text/memo fields using a parameter. I can search for words via a formula, however the ability for end users to add just keyword/keywords via a parameter would be better. Any ideas?
