Hey all,
Just bought myself some 5.1 speakers, and had them working fine last night on my PC, then I decided to cart them into the lounge to watch a DVD. After trying to reconnect them up to the PC in the same method, I cannot get any sound from the centre speaker.
I have a Leadtek WinFast...
Oh, I agree that it is a top quality board for the price (picked mine up for £50), packed with features and OC'ing tweaks, and according to benchmarks, one of the fastest socket A boards you can buy.
Ah well, after a couple more hours fiddling I gave up and reinstalled my AGP card.
Corruption was what I saw, and a fair bit of it, even at POST there were little white lines where there shouldn't have been, which to me says it's definitely a h/ware fault.
I'd appreciate your thoughts folks...
Hey all, trying to get my on-board video up n running so I can donate my AGP card to a more needy person.
All is fine installing drivers, all is fine on the desktop, but as soon as I try to start a game Xp blue-screens on me with the message:
NO_MORE_STACK_IRP_LOCATIONS
I've done some Googling...
My RAM is 512 PC2700, and my swapper is system managed, so always a good size. The drive is alone on it's own IDE channel as I've heard other drives can cause problems.
I can't find a model number/name for this damn drive, not on the box, not on the manual, not on their site............
Yes, sorry, more info is gooooood.
The CDRW is about a year old, it has 2 Mb on-board cache, and I use Win Xp Pro.
Not sure what you mean by cache settings???
What's a firmware update and where can I find one?
Hey good people!
I've had this burner for about a year, and it's been average. But now, everytime I try to burn an image from my HDD I will ALWAYS have errors on it. Audio CDs burn fine, but they're not quite as fussy as data are they?
I know the game images I'm using are good as they...
Hello all, I've only just noticed after recieving a warning message from Bootvis, that my disk write caching is disabled. Ok I thought, and went into my HDDs properties, then into Policies, only to find that the whole field is greyed out, although the "Optimize for performance" option...
Do you know what? I have no idea why the format worked either, but it did, so I aint complaining!
SYAR2003, yup, I have the 3.13 drivers installed with SW-IDE, and yeah, they work like a charm!
I agree with cdogg, using Nero as a benchmark is not the right way to go about things. If you look...
The problem with mine Doc, was that it was a brand new drive, and I made the mistake of only quick formatting it straight out of the box, rather than the tiresome full format. Once I'd given it the full format, it was back up to speed.
So unless you only performed a quick format like I did, I...
One more update, lol. It appears the drivers were not the problem after all, my results on PCPitstop turned out to be a fluke and I was no better off than before, like my drive wouldn't come out of PIO mode............
I formatted my HDD and started again this morning, this time doing a FULL...
Thanks a lot for your help guys, I hear what you're saying about defrag, and I run it twice a day. Yeah, partition size occurred to me too, as Xp is just bouncing around in 70 gig of space, but I solved the problem anyways.
I downloaded a set of generic drivers from Leadtek's website, isolated...
I knew you'd bring the RAM issue up, lol. 256 was damn fine before I upgraded my machine, and it still doesn't alter the fact that my drive is going the same speed as a ATA/33 drive.
I appreciate your help, you've been great, I think we'll just have to admit defeat on this day. I've really had...
