Your problem most likely lies in upgrading to IE 6. When I did this I experienced nothing but system problems after that, also unable to access websites, and experiencing IE freezing time after time.

I have done this by going into Add/Remove Programs and restoring the old configuration. However whenever I run IE now I get a Visual C++ error in Internet Explorer.exe windows will shut down.
What should I do from here? I have tried the fix tool and reinstalling but it keeps coming back.
The link worked fine. I do not get any more error messages, however, when I go into add/remove programs it has no listings only a blank screen.
