    I have stopped all possible services including the IIS and web services and I still get the error. I have noticed that the IIS service has started backup after I get the error. Thanks for the help.

    In a windows 98se pc I print from a dos-based program to a network LJ4100 printer it prints fine. Closing the program and then trying to print to another printer from a windows base program doesn't work unless I reboot the pc? Any suggestions? Thanks

    Paul, I eliminated the router and I still have the same problems. I am going to talk to Toshiba(modem) and find out if Win2000 has any conflicts with it. I was at the win98 machines and did everything the same and had no problems. Weird. I will post my findings. Thanks for your suggestions
