Hello Everybody,
I have a strange problem when I do a df -Ik of a particular filesystem, it says that there is approx. 90Mb used while there is nothing in the filesystem. I have tried a fsck on that filesystem and no problems, did a fuser /dev/filesystem and no processes that maybe had a...
Hello Everybody,
Maybe a stupid question, but how can I set an LPAR so it boots in Maintenance mode just the way like how you did it on aix433 with SP????
I can boot in normal or SMS mode, but in SMS I can't do all the things I need to do.
Thanks in advance,
best regards,
Rudy
Hello,
I have some troubles with restoring mksysb's via NIM on lpar-systems, the first time when I do a mksysb restore via nim on a new lpar everything goes ok, when I do a mksysb restore on a existent system (exactly the same way as before), everytime the system hangs on LED code 622, Display...
Yes right, when I do a rsh to the full qualified hostname then it works immediately, in the resolv.conf is only the nameserver and domain filled in, when I do a nslookup with hostname as well as ip, it boths works ok!
But what you said about the firewall that some port was blocked, this situation is not similiar to ours because we don't have a firewall between it, I think this has something to do with the DNS but cant find anything.
I still cant find anything, on all hosts works the nslookup fine, the host is SYSTEM1 and domain is COMPANY.NL, so when I do a rsh to SYSTEM1.COMPANY.NL then it works ok, but when I do a rsh to SYSTEM1 it "hangs" for about 30 seconds, while nslookup SYSTEM1 works fine!
Anybody some...
Hello Everybody,
We have here some new P690's, we configured DNS, everythings seems to work ok, but when I want to rsh to another system (SYSTEMA)in the same network it takes a long time to login (approx. 1 minute), nslookup hostname and ip works fine. The strange thing here is when I do a rsh...
Thanks AIXQUEEN,
Do you also have something about mksysb restores via nim in a LPAR-environment? In the handbook and other redbooks about P690's isn't this mentioned.
Thanks in advance,
Rudy
I have the NIM master installed, now I want to restore another mksysb to a nim-client, What are then the steps to take? I have made a new resource group for this mksysb, but how can I allocate this group to the client?

Hello,
We want to install NIM on a LPAR (P690), does anybody have a NIM guide for AIX5? I can only find NIM from A - Z for AIX 433.
Thanks in advance,

Hello Everyone,
All thanks for the answers, We have here a P690 (Regatta) which is a 64-bits machine, but you can have a partition with 32- or 64-bits AIX installed, when I try the command bootinfo -y on a partition where 32-bits AIX is installed I get the following:
root@lpar02:/ # bootinfo...
