Look at your memory paging. I have a hunch you're paging to disk. If that's the case, 3GB for the OS may not be sufficient. Ultimately, it depends on what you're doing. The other thing you want to look at is whether or not your VM has memory over-allocated. For many types of applications, this...
You're probably making this much harder than you need to.
Find a good backup script at sqlservercentral.com and schedule it using sqlcmd and a Windows scheduled task. That will be much simpler.

We have an application that stores MS word documents in an NTEXT field. Suddenly, this table has grown exceptionally large. Is there a way to determine the size of that NTEXT column for each row? By knowing which documents are large, we can then find the template that is causing the huge growth...
I know someone will ask. We're running sendmail 8.12 on Compaq Tru64 UNIX.

We are using an RBL to block spam from open relays, and its working great. Unfortunately, we have a customer with an open relay. Even worse, the customer isn't able or willing (we're not quite sure which) to close their open relay.
Due to pressure from the sales people, we have two choices...
There are no rules here. You'll have to make them up.
I've seen organizations limit to 25 MB per person, and I've seen organizations limit upto 400 MB per person. Its a matter of how much disk space you have to give and your organizations retention policy.

It's a bit tricky, but it can be done. First, forget about Exchange for a minute. Concentrate on the NT domain. To save yourself some sanity, look at Novell's Account Manager/dirXML for eDirectory, formerly NSD4NT. Get that working correctly to synchronize account information between the NDS and...
There is a really annoying problem if the client is running Windows 2000 with IE 5.0 and above. If the client's domain doesn't trust the server's domain, it will continuously prompt you to log in.

Try removing their SMTP addresses from the Addresses tab.
It's that easy.

In the ACLs of each database on your server, go to the Advanced tab, and select the option "Enforce a consistent Access Control List across all replicas of this database."
It will make this VERY secure. In fact, it will most likely prevent you from getting into a database from the...
We have a DEC Alpha workstation running Compaq's TruUNIX64 (better known as MAIL01) with sendmail 8.9. This machine accepts any incoming mail, checks it against ordb.org, rfc-ignorant.org, and osirusoft.org for any RBL entries. If it finds any RBL violations, it ignores the message. If it gets...
I've heard of this happening before.

You can change this to run hourly, but be warned, you'll get the 'Welcome Back' message hourly, too.
If you want to change it, I suggest you change the template and not the database. If you change the template, it will go back to running daily as soon as the database designer task runs at 2:00...
This is just a hunch, but it might not be his mail DB that's the problem. Make sure he has author access to your Domino Directory.
I have to other things to try:
First, make sure he's not part of any termination groups.
Second, the next time you re-register him, don't register him using the...
This is in the IBM:Domino FAQ. I wrote this one:
We have a lot of remote users. They are bringing their laptops in next week, but we're not ready to deploy R5 yet. What should I do?

I agree with LocalHero. I would prefer to use the filesystem to store the files. Let MySQL store a pointer to that file.

We have a couple of role-based mailboxes. These are things like Helpdesk, Security Manager, Webmaster, Postmaster, etc. These are assigned based on role because multiple people do to the work.
The situation is that Sandi, our Security Manager, needs to get a pop-up notification when Security...
We're using CA's InnocuLAN/InnoculateIT on our desktops. We were using their Exchange agent when we got hit with Prolin.A. The words were uttered: NEVER AGAIN.
Within a few days, we were trying out several packages. We opted to use something different on the Exchange servers than on the...
That's exactly the problem. We've provided the user community with instructions on how to do this, but it still doesn't help.
