Anyone calls our main number and after 4 rings the call goes to voice mail. The caller hears the announcement. But, then the caller is supposed to hear the "beep" to start recording. There is silence and no "beep" and the voice mail system says "good bye" and hangs up.

went into winspm and directed trunk 816 to ext 162. now trunk 816 is constantly "off hook". As soon as I plug in the physical line, I draw dial tone. Ran a test...got dial tone, then I busied out the trunk...dial tone stopped. activated the trunk and dial tone came back immediately...
I understand that. I have a physical line that the 800 number is associated with.
I need advise on programming the Magix to point the incoming line/trunk to the extension
Our users wanted to add an incoming 800 number to our existing Merlin Magix. They want the 800 number to ring on extension 162 at the receptionist desk.
How do I assign the 800 number to that extension?

Thanks for the information....got the names entered....tested the *2 and I was able to enter the directory.
But, when I did the test, the was no name announcement, it just started ringing the extension.
So then I tried it on our ext 100 which is the main phone. I call and the voicemail message...
From the automated attendant night menu we want to give the option for a caller to access the directory....put in 4 letters of the persons name, etc, etc.
I assume this is done by a selector code, directing the call to the directory. I know the directory is setup on the extension programming...
