We have an older IP Office and VM pro 2.1 system. I'm not trained in IP Office or VM Pro or phone systems in general.
What I know is through noodling around the settings.
We had the attendent setup to answer incoming calls via an attendent. The custom recorded message lists choices: 1 for...
I figured it out.
From my phone, I was not able to use Intercom to handsfree into someone else's phone. However, everyone else could from another handset. I checked the setting and found that phone settings with "dial intercom' on a button allows this to happen.
To prevent someone from using...
As long as it is off, the calling party can call, but can't hear anything until the person turns on the mic, or pics up the handset."
That might be the case in some installs, but here in my building, the mic is on when someone uses intercomm. I can hear what is being said in the remote room...
The handset is 4412D+.
HfAns is turned off on the phone.
Removed the settings from the management console.
Deleted:
Code: DCP Tel #: 0,0,1,1, Feature: CW Line Grp: 0
I can still intercom into my phone from another handset.
Maybe it takes time for the settings change to take...
Thanks for your reply Hairlessupportmonkey,
I see under my phone settings:
Code: DCP Tel #: 0,0,1,1, Feature: CW Line Grp: 0
Under the offending user:
Does not have a setting starting with DCP in the Short Codes.
Only has FDW0, which looks like a forwarding setting.
Can I clear...
Hi,
Running an older software version of Avaya IP Office System. Help> About is scrambled. I did see Version 1 March 2004 listed somewhere when opening an app.
I'm not well versed in phones. I did do a search before posting.
If this question has been answered before, please point me to the...
Hi Noway2,
I ran NSLOOKUP internally and exterally from the web and the results are the same: Forward works fine, Reverse fails.
Not sure how to proceed. Was going to copy and save everything configured and erase it, then try to reconfigure it.
Any idea why Server 2003 won't let me create a...
Hi,
We are forwarding DNS requests for our sites and mail to our Internet facing DNS server. Our registrar is one company and the block of IPs are from ATT. The registrar has our our DNS server (NS1, SOA) and ATT DNS server (NS2), in this ordered. Our web pages and mail are coming in ok...
Hi,
Thought this might help someone out there.
Preface:
As long as you have 801q running on your Linksys and Cisco switch trunks and have a router (Cisco or Linksys) capable of 801q encapsulation, you can get this config to work.
Create and name your VLANS. VLAN IDs and names should be the...
The entry: route inside 192.168.50.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2 did work!
I shut down the 1721 and went to work on the 2620. The short of it is the 2620 image is no good for trunk encapsulation. what do you want for $55??
Went back to the 1721 and for some reason it went to romon mode...
route inside 192.168.50.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2
did not work either.
I'm going to start over with the Cisco 2620.
I'll follow along with what you all suggested.
thanks very much,
Vince
I didn't add the Helper-address for DNS. One just happens to both a DNS and DHCP server. When I had problems with returning pages, I added the other 2 DNS servers to see if it would have any positive effects; nothing happened.
Never heard of CFE. I did see it in help and notice 'forwarding'...
The reason I don't have this stuff turned on is because I now learning this stuff for the first time. I have not seen these requirements in anything I have read or seen.
I have the CCNA training vid from signaltrain.com and it never mentioned routing protocol is must on the router-on-a-stick...
I was told by the people who installed the network before I got here that they wanted to add vlans to improve backup times on the servers. I thought that was a good idea. Never got around to it.
Inter-vlan communication is working now, except the lab vlan can't get to the internet. DNS works...
