Hi everyone,
I'm not a Unix expert, but I had to maintain a few SCO 5.0.5 servers for months now. From time to time, some of them are disconnected from the network, usually the reboot is the only solution I have.
I figured out the causes of those disconnections were multiple :
- bad NIC...
That's what I thought ... but still, it's hard to find available motherboards for openserver 5.0.5 ...
I've been told about virtualization, and I'm trying right now to install Openserver on it. Did anyone try this ?
Hi,
We are trying to make a hardware configuration for a SCO 5.0.5 server.
Starting with the motherboard, I've been told the MSI MS 7043 works fine with it, but it's very difficult to find it.
Can I try to install 5.0.5 on a newer motherboard ? With SATA hard drives ?
Thanks in advance !
Thanks for the answer.
We made a little script which told us that the system is freezing everyday at about 6.55pm
We're looking for a software issue, but it's hard to find it. No computer on the network is sending anything at this time.
Hi,
I have just enough UNIX knowledge to do a few things on our SCO 5.0.5 server, but I'm stuck with a tough problem :
Some times, for no particular reason, the server is very very slow. I run sar and see that the %sys column is around 99% ... 3 or 4 minutes later, all clients are disconnected...
