i forgot to mention that i am a newbie in linux.
but i think i have understood what you have said...
someone proposed to me copiing his rpm directory and simply run it so that i could install a gcc*.rpm package that i downloaded.
i have done a lot of googling but still i have found no solution...
i use ipcop as a router for my home mini-network but i would like to instal some other things on it.
the fact is that it does not have gcc included or rpm so i really don't know how to install anything on it.
i think i can manage my way if someone helps me to instal one of the 2 mentioned...
I have only a hint but I yhink that you should try and change de virtual hdd to be IDE not SCSI to see if this is the problem ...

hello!
i want to change my default html editor for internet explorer (the one that opens when i select view source) and in the list from Internet explorer->Programs-> HTML editor combo selector there isn't the option that i want.

Thanks very...
i have a notebook which has in the de windows device manager the record of "Texas Instruments PCI-1211 Cardbus Controller".
i read a few paragraphs on the internet and i came to understand that Cardbus Controller implies 32 bit tehnology support and Pc Card implies 16-bit tehnology.
is that...
in bios there was no info that i could use for this subject and in device manager at pcmcia devices there was :
"Texas Instruments PCI-1211 CardBus Controller"
but i don't really know what this means...
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

I asked on the phone a seller about a pcmcia card (surecom ep-428x) and he asked me if i am sure that my notebook supports 32 bit pcmcia ...
how do i find what that is and if my notebook has it...???
i have a dell latitude ls model pp01s and i couldn't find any information about its...
i intend to buy a pcmcia device to use it on my notebook
the device is :
SURECOM EP-428X 32-bit 100/10M CardBus PC Card
and i would like it to work with ipcop (latest release)
the question is:
will ipcop recognize the device and will it know how to use it???
of course this is actually a driver...
i'd like to make a batch that will execute and after it finishes the execution the commmand window (dos) that it had opened NOT to be closed as it does usually!
does anybody know a solution for that???

I have a printer (Lexmark) instaled on my Win XP Machine and it is shared on the network but if a machine from my network that is runnig Linux-Suse10.0 sends a job to the queue of my printer it apears there for a second with the status "Printing" and imediately...
I tried to do the same thing by using NTFS on C drive and not giving any pemisions to the specified user but there apear problems and i give you a simple example: winamp makes a bak of the playlist if you open a file and for that it need the right to write in that folder... I'm not saing there...
