Not certain on max sizes but if you get multiple large tables the indexes may get corrupt. I battle this all of the time. I just purge, slice and dice to get a functional size again.

I did that about 28 years ago. Someone killed a table and I used the NTX "Clipper index file" to pull the client ID's and names. Had to recreate the rest. If that is an index file, the data that maybe available will only be the fields used in the index.

Sounds to me as if the process is pointing to a different record at the point of the replace command. Is is possible that the process is looking at a different record at the point of the replace? For those times it isn't working cleanly. You could check the RECNO() at the point you append...
I think for the younger group < 7 or 8 it has a purpose. Once you get old enough to understand that there are kids who are more athletic than you it's time to reward success and not give everybody a medal or whatever. Don't look at his thru your eyes, look thru the eyes of that little kid...
Dave,
You didn't per chance goto FVHS? Was friends with a fellow how's family moved back to Utah from So Cal. A couple of our friends moved the family back in 1969, the two older boys stayed out in So. Cal. Just checking on the off chance.

One other consideration, usually these contests are the start of a bigger contest. Regional to State to National. If this was part of a national contest then shame on the adults that let it happen. If it was just a school contest then naming the contest after the prior winner is cool. But...
I have used an actual date. I use one earlier than possible within the data set. Also, test the month "IF MONTH(DATE()) = 0" should work for you.

CC is correct again. You can't go negative, it looks like you are a cry baby or worse. I laugh when sales people do it, they get a puzzled look just before I tell them where to go. The cover letter is just to setup the resume, and should be short and sweet. The reader is looking for the...
2ffat,
You're taking me back, 25 years ago I was doing phonesupport. The question I got asked was, "do you mean the letter zero or the number zero?".
I'm still laughing.

Opening in excel will not trash them. Saving them in excel will modify the structure, but only if you do a save. You can open and do a SAVE AS and save to another file name. If you don't do a save it won't alter the structure.

Looking at the NTX wouldn't offer any info, other than to show that there are records in the index. The DBF is the key. Do you have a backup of hte DBF file prior to this issue? You can open the DBF in excel but don't to a save from within excel. If the data doesn't fit neatly into the...
You should be able to recreate the indexes. Do you have a reindex function, and if not can you recreate them? If you can erase the current index and then recreate it. I have a line of code to erase an index when it is recreating them. If the index is corrupt, you will need a fresh index...
