Sorry, I don't have the answer for you but I'm trying to figure that out myself and posted "Bitmap color change" below. The only reason I turned the clipart to a bitmap is because I couldn't find a way to do it with the original vector art. Maybe someone can clear it up for both of us.

Okay, I saved it and it still reverts back to black line art instead of blue (as saved) Javabear - I converted it because it has many colors and I wanted to turn it into a simple one piece of line art. I don't know of any other way to do it - I'll bet I'm missing something rediculously easy right?

Hello, I wanted to change the color of a piece of clip art. Converted it to bit map, selected "one Color", changed the color and copied and pasted it into my publication. When it pasted the color went back to the original bitmap color ..black..?
