Bitmap color change

Hello,

I wanted to change the color of a piece of clip art.

Converted it to bit map, selected "one Color", changed the color and copied and pasted it into my publication.

When it pasted the color went back to the original bitmap color ..black..?

why would you convert a vector clipart to a bitmap clipart just to change color?

Okay, I saved it and it still reverts back to black line art instead of blue (as saved)

Javabear - I converted it because it has many colors and I wanted to turn it into a simple one piece of line art. I don't know of any other way to do it - I'll bet I'm missing something rediculously easy right?

Probably, but you've yet to confirm whether or not this is a vector file or a raster file - which is it? What are you trying to do with it in the end? Why are you using copy/paste? What is this "publication?" I.e., what apps are you using? You've really not given much info for people to base answers off of.

Hi again,

The file I'm trying to convert is Vector. I'm using copy and paste because it appears to be the fastest way to bring art between Draw and the other thing I'm using, Publisher.

ack... I hope this is not something you're trying to get professionally printed as MS Publisher is NOT a professional-level DTP app.

What you'd really want to do is to IMPORT the clipart (presuming it's a vector clipart) into Draw. Then you'd want to ungroup it, select the item in question you want to recolor and just change the color (just a matter of selecting the item and clicking on a color swatch).

Then regroup the items, save the file in case you have to re-do it again, and then EXPORT the file into the original format you imported from.
