Hi all,
I'm experiencing a weird issue with a web based app I have running via Windows 2000 Svr IIS5 and SQL 2000.
I'm unable to access my application from machines on the same LAN as my server unless a I log into the application first on the server and leave an active browser session running...
Thanks for the pointers.
I did some extra digging around. I found a util in the SQL binn directory called textcopy.exe it looks as though this should do exactly what I want i.e. give me a means of up/down loading complete images to/from the db.
The problem is when I do an output from the db the...
Hello All.
I have an application using SQL at the back end I'm trying to understand in greater detail. My exposure to SQL has only been in terms of system admin, so I'm struggling a bit with this one!
My app is ASP web based and there are lots of images (Gif's) used in the GUI. I presumed that...
Hi There,
Does the device appear when the PC does it's power on routine.?
If the PC knows it's there but can't boot an O/S
ensure there is an active partition that can be "seen".
Is the partition formatted and installed with an operating system.
Do you get to see the hard drive if...
Hello There,
Take it you've got no problems with the card first off?
It's Cardbus as far as I know and wont work in a standard PCMCIA slot. Needs 32 bit.
If the card looks as though it's behaving itself, and I'd presume it is given you mention scanning the bus, is your device supported on this...
Hi, DeadTaco.
When you mention other server resources I take it you mean these remain available via the same physical box?
If the server is dropping connections and all services are unavailable perhaps this points to problems lower down in the networking chain than something in the O/S itself...
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone here has any experience in incorporating components into IE6 Builds using the Internet explorer administration kit?
I have an application which runs in the browser providing a fully featured GUI to the end user. When the user first runs the app IIS offers some...
Hello all,

I'm trying to use Excel as a configurator for a network management application I support.
I have a worksheet which contains a series of questions.
E.G. Switch manufacturer. Switch model Etc.
Initially i tried to marry these...
Hello All,
I come from a networking SQL background. I understand networking but suffer significant gaps in my understanding of structured cabling and how technology requirements influence structured cabling solutions..
So here I am trying to brush up!!
What I'm looking for is just some...
Many thanks Tony.
Looks as though I was in the right ball park.
Just wondering wether to upgrade to Office 2000 or XP. suppose Xp makes the most sense if I'm to bother at all but I'll probably introduce new problems knowing my luck!
Thanks for your Help.
Hello All.
I'm from a networking background so I'm entirely out of my depth encountering errors in the code below.
I assume this macro can be used to enforce fonts/styles etc.
When I run it within the doc I get Compile Error: Method or Data member not found. This occurs at the .UnderlineColor =...
sounds to me like you'd just end up with an active directory sitting next to an NT domain on your physical LAN.
This in itself might present you with a path forward.
I would consider building a second machine into your NT 4 domain as a BDC. You will then be protecting your current live...
Hello There.
If you're unable to write to media it's probably because your pools are not sufficiently populated.
If you are using the EB default scheme, you will need 4 blank media for daily jobs before Brightstor EB begins to reuse daily media.5 weekly before reuse and 12 monthly before reuse...
