I've been doing some testing and when I setup 2 test files, excel promts me to update the links when opening, whoever it does not prompt the use on his files. ???

Hi there
I've just had a request from one of my users. We recently upgraded him from Excel 2000 to Excel 2003.
He has two files, file A and file B, file B updates certain cells from file A.
He tells me that since his upgrade to 2003 these links are updating automatically even if file A is not...
Maybe? I'm not sure, but the RUS creates/updates the email addresses. I've had problems with users not appearing in the GAL before and traced it to the RUS. However I only have a single domain and no child domains.
I did exactly what you want to do about 18 months ago and all when very smoothly with a mailbox move. I scheduled the mailbox moves overnight and the users never even noticed :) Microsoft's documentation on deployment is very helpful.
Good luck with it
Hi Guys
I've been asked to setup a group of new mail enabled users, however these users are not allowed to send or receive mail outside of our organisation. (It's purely internal mail)
I've had a quick look around the forum and internet and can't find anything that looks right, and in typical...
Sorted Pre Logon Branding!
I run a GPO Start up Script, that contains the following;
'Apply Registry Settings
'Screen Saver & Wallpaper Settings (Pre-Logon Environment)
WshShell.RegWrite "HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Desktop\ScreenSaveActive", 1, "REG_SZ"
WshShell.RegWrite...
I've already set a Group Policy but it doesn't affect the Pre Logon environment, it's fine for the users desktop.
The pre logon environment is the screen where you get Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to logon so no user settings are applied. The Registry uses the .default users to make changes to this...
Hi Guys
I’m trying to affect the Windows Pre Logon Environment, basically I want to set the Screen Saver and Wallpaper to the corporate defaults.
I’m doing this at the moment by hacking the registry as the user logs in, but if the user doesn’t have Local Admin rights the registry remains...
Thanks Grunty, but Andy's solution works fine for me and seems a little more elegant than hacking the registry. That said I will try your method, knowledge is power and all that.
Thanks to all you guys who have helped on this, especially to Andy.
Cheers
Jay
PS. Merry Christmas and Happy New...

Hi guys, I could do with some help on this.
I need to be able to assign Network Printers at 'Machine Startup' and NOT at the 'User Logon' as the users move around and the machines don't.
I've setup geographical OU's for the PC and Departmental OU's for the Users.
The Scripts for the users...
Thanks Justin
I've set up an unlock job to run everyday at 9am. this will allow the ops to change the tapes and I've set another job 30 mins before the first backup starts to inv the library. All looks good.
:)
Thanks for the posts guys, most helpful
Ok guys forget the first question I've tried both command line and the GUI, they both worked fine. I have shown both to the ops and they prefer the GUI so the GUI it's but any thoughts on the unlock?
