Hey everybody.
I upgraded a laptop from Windows 2000 Pro to Windows XP Pro today. I'm using a local admin account to install and uninstall programs. A few of them have worked. However, whenever an installer tries to access the registry I get an error message. For instance:
MS Office 2003...
Hey all,
I have a user running Outlook 2003 accessing a Microsoft Exchange 2000 mailbox. The user reports that their Deleted Items folder does not allow him to view the contents within, but deleted items still flow to it normally. Apparently, for whatever reason, this user needs to view the...
I got a hold of Discovery Attender, it worked very well on the Exchange 5.5 system. However, I'm having trouble getting any results on the Exchange 2000 system... It says my account has the insufficient credentials. I looked for "Exchange Admin" credentials but I couldn't find them on my DC...
Good afternoon everybody,
I've been asked to conduct some forensic investigations on mailboxes in my organization's domain. Is there a software tool recommended by users here that will allow me to perform searches on the Exchange 5.5 & 2000 mailboxes for certain keywords or criteria without me...
Hi all,
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get an answer from Microsoft on this question since they "don't support 5.5".
Is there a way in Exchange 5.5 to apply a mandatory disclaimer to the end of every email sent? MS gave me a solution for 2000/2003, is there a solution for 5.5?

Hi,
Is there a way to enforce some kind of policy that forces all Outlook users in a network to have a specific text entry in the signature of their emails? In other words, can an admin force a signature for all Outlook clients?
Eric M.
Thanks!
Since I'm migrating from 5.5 to 2003 in the next 3 months, does 2003 offer me a solution to this problem? I will submit another thread in the 2003 forum to see who can assist.

Allright, I had a discussion with my boss. I informed him a/b RTF inside our agency and that the IMS is already configured to transmit as plain-text only.
What I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to convert incoming mail into plain text even if it was sent as HTML. My guess was that...
Well, my CIO is asking if we can do both.
He would like to force all internal users to transmit email via plain-text.
He would also like to force all users to recieve mail as plain-text.
This is more of a research project than an implementation, I'm just gathering info. Any help is much...
Is there a way on Exchange 5.5 to restrict all emails to plain-text only as a global setting? Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Hey all,
My company used to outsource their IT stuff and has a problem. We have two seperate domains in two seperate forests running Exchange 5.5 in one and 2000 in the other. The new IT Dept. is in charge of "merging" the two domains into a single 2K3 domain w/ Exchange 2003.
Is there a...
Well, I got it to work, but it's odd...
I checked the exception boxes for:
File & Printer Sharing (to transfer the Remote Agent)
Remote Desktop (just in case)
And then I created a port for Dameware as per the website's instructions.
When I attempted to connect, it dropped.
So I rebooted the...
Mikiemov - what you've suggested, if I want the Help Desk users to reach all PC's, I apply this GPO on the domain root, correct? Or am I lost again?
Eric M.
Yes, I've tried the firewall adjustments they posted and haven't gotten it to work out yet. If anyone has any addt'l information, I'd appreciate it.

Hey all.
Having trouble using Dameware & Windows XP SP2. The Windows Firewall blocks out my attempts to connect remotely now. I've tried to open the default port on ICF but I still can't get remote access to PC's. Anyone else been able to solve this?
Eric M.
As for that last part, what's the fastest way to add the global group to the local admin group on the client PC's? Am I stuck going into each machine and changing it or is there a faster way?
(reason being is that our offices are spread amongst 5 buildings)
