Thanks for your info, I was remotely configuring the server in question for Arcserve, it turns out the customer in question, installed the wrong product, they had installed Advanced Edition instead of Workgroup Edition. Thanks again

The DNS on the network is Active Directory Integrated, I therefore removed the need to backup the registry on the DC in question, and just backed up the System state on the Production server. Backup completed sucessfully. Thanks for all your help....

Basically the files involved are in the system32 folder on a remote server (PDC), they're are multiple files, but they all reside in the system 32 folder. Hope this helps... Thanks
