    No AD required as far as I understand your situation. The change shouldn't hurt and can be undone if needed, very quickly. Just schedule weekend time. This change should work.

    Try this: 1) Right Click on My Computer 2) Go into Properties> Network Identification>Properties 3) Click on More & add the entire domain name after the computer name. For Eg: computername.domainname.com 4) Reboot the machine once that is done. HTH
