Sloop,
No we haven't. I have done some research on SolarWinds and the Host-Resource-Mib. From what I have gathered, the Orion product will not work even in the new release. In order to properly monitor these boxes, you need the Engineer's tools with the SNMP RealTime Viewer, MIB Walk and MIB...
We have 6 IBM AIX 5.1 boxes and I want to get SNMP running on them so that we can track usage with SolarWinds. My AIX guy can get the snmpd daemon running in the right community, but all I can see are the interfaces and not CPU, DISK, etc. We also have Oracle 9 and want to monitor that for...

We have Oracle 9ias (I'm a network guy) I believe and I am seeing tons of multicasts from one host (about 27% of all traffic). There are two of these servers and at some point were configured for RAC or some kind of clustering. I did a quick search at the Oracle site and found that the...
I agree with Patrick. We are using SNMP to manage a wide variety of nodes from narrow-band connections, .11b wireless, Cisco, IBM AIX, Windows-based, etc. and are having the most trouble getting the AIX environment to cooperate. We use SolarWinds Orion and it is great. It has its limitations...

Hi,
I am currently sniffing AIX servers on a Cisco 4507 box. The servers are ether-channeled at the box and at the switch, so I am mirroring the port-channel. I am using EtherPeek and in the expert as well, I am seeing local routing as well. Is this a product of the mirror as well?
