Good day to everyone!
I forgot to mention I live in North County San Diego, CA (about 50 miles north of the city of San Diego)and I work in Long Beach, CA in the Healthcare Managed Care industry.
Just ordered the "Essential PROC SQL" book from Amazon. I've already noticed though that not all...
Chris,
I saw your post in which a guy attacked you for your response. It was way out of line, so don't get discouraged. My name is Nick and I work as a Healthcare Programmer-Analyst. Our main platforms are SQL Server 2000, Cognos Report Net, and SAS.
I'm fairly new to SAS (I've played with it...
Klaz,
You were dead on right!
datAdmit is a DATETIME in SQL Server, but I guess when my SAS library brings the data in from SQL Server, this field is recognized as a numeric SAS date variable.
Because of this, I didn't realize that within a Proc Sql step, SAS still needs to have dates...
Hello All!
I'm new to SAS and am encountering the following error
52 proc sql;
53 SELECT cd.*
54 FROM HCI_sql.DM_Claim_Diagnosis cd
55 INNER JOIN HCI_sql.DM_Claim c
56 ON cd.strClaim = c.strClaim
57 AND c.datAdmit BETWEEN '20051101' AND '20061231'
58 ORDER BY cd.strClaim...
Thanks again to everyone!
Here's the final solution:
--Step1
--Make temp table1 from Business table
SELECT strID, FROMDate,ThruDate,Specialty
INTO ##tblBusiness_temp
FROM Business
--Step2
--Create temp table to modify date values stored as varchar
--reformat varchar to char(10)
SELECT...
Hi everyone!
Thanks to all who responded.
I will be implementing the recommendations shortly.
And I know!, I don't know why this table, which is not 'Normalized' BTW, was created with varchars storing date data. Go figure!
Of course, I'm trying to clean up the mess to get a critical report...
To all,
I am trying to convert data in a varchar field to a datetime field in a temp table, so that I can perform MIN,MAX operations on the field.
I've tried CAST, CONVERT both without success:
SELECT DISTINCT strProviderID, CAST(StartDate AS datetime) AS StartDate
INTO ##BCR_05_temp2
FROM...
Hi All! I'm new to SQL Server.
Is there anyway to program list values for a field(s) for insert operations a-la MS Access field value lists?
Thanks for your help!
Thanks guys, both of you have given me excellent solutions. I appreciate the community help/spirit, and hope I can be of help to others in the future.
Thanks again,
Nick
Ido,
Thanks for the tip! I will mainly use Crystal with existing data sources (AS400 - DB2, Access, Excel). So I could play with the 4.6 version by doing a custom install of my Visual Studio? If so, that's great!
Nick
Hi All!
I've got reports that use Parameter queries as their data source. Is it possible to print in the header of my report, the last date entered as a month/yyyy? I usually use 2 inputs for the date range. So if I enter for example (2/1/04) for the first date, and then (2/28/04) for the second...
Hi All!
I'm new to Crystal Reports having just talked my IS department into loading Crystal V.7 on my workstaion. I work as a Data Analyst, and write programs specific to my industry (Healthcare) on an ongoing basis. I've been told, or have read, that Crystal Reports is integrated with VB6. I...
Sheila,
What perseverence to be at this problem for weeks! I'm probably not as smart as the other guys, but I don't mind trying. If it's OK, send me a screenshot of your ERD (Access relationships window) and from what you've posted already, I'll work on it. If I have more questions, I'll post...
This is not a specific FileMaker ERD program, but I have found it Extremely useful! It's called SILVERUN by Magna Solutions http://www.magna-solutions.de
They even have a trial version which I continue to use for free (limited in the number of entities created & Windows-only though!)
Good...
