PIX 515E 6 interfaces - public IP on DMZ translation

Hello, I recently switched our company firewalling system from FW-1 to Cisco PIX. Coming from that platform and not being a PIX Os cli guru, I went for PDM config (bleaaaaargh - I think that is messing up conf...). Our system has 6 interfaces, of which 5 are used...

Exchange 5.5 -> 2K migration. Looking for advice.

Hi Jzakora, thanks for replying, but I'm missing some points as maybe I didn't express everything clearly: I don't think the FSMO step ftis in here, as my major concern is to get users/groups from the master domain and import them into my AD, which can be then a "living" one...

Exchange 5.5 -> 2K migration. Looking for advice.

Hi everyone, I think there's a lot skilled techies around that maybe have been through this already, so I'm taking the chance to seek and ask for the (quickest/thinnest/best) way to do the Exchange 5.5 -> 2K migration (and the related domain infrastructure changes). ...moreover, I got no IT...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Acknowledged pal. Gotta check trhough the console port if they set a login, as via vty I don't have the login password first... then I'm missing the enable one anyway... yes, there's the config register, but I wouldn't know how to tell my engagement managers why they lost an account... hi hi...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Yup Burke! I saw another post you made somewhere else on the forum, so I checked Kingston and the flash/dram aren't expensive, but they don't sell/ship online purchase outside US :( You know, usually is less common to find quick ways (online); to purchase the stuff you're looking for in...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Okey dokey, thanks man. I was starting to thinking that actually I was seeing something it wasn't there... I was tricked by the other 2500 which is running IOS 12, that has default 0-4 instead... Since I have the customer's 2500 IOS 11.0 here, I think I'll go on and use it to upgrade mine...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Yup! 1 more thing... If I enter router(config)# no line vty 1 177 the cisco responds it can't delete the last five lines, which lets me suppose actually this is the command... if I make a sh conf, vty 0 through 4 are displayed, but still if I got to (config)#line vty ? I have 0-177... Maybe...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Hi Burke, you know what? in this IOS release there isn't sh run command... when I make changes, first I use "write mem" (there's no "copy run st" as well); and then sh conf.. bah?! anyway, here it is: rtr-iconmedialab#sh conf Using 10518 out of 32762 bytes ! version 10.2...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Hi Burke, although cisco thingies weren't my childhood playground, I guessed that could be a way as to add lines you just do: router(config)#line vyt xx xx and add them, but it doesn't work... :( strange thing is that at the router(config)#line ? command, I get: <0-6> First Line number...

How to reduce number of set VTYs?

Hello, I inherited a pretty old 2501 (IOS 10.2-need HW upgr to updt); and there are 178 VTYs set on it (0-177). As IOS states everytime, this may impact performance (and anyway, who needs them?); so I'd like to reduce the configured number back to 5. Searched cisco.com, forums, google...

Super Cisco Rookie - frame relay help + vty config

Thanks to all of you guys, actually it turned out that my understandings of Cisco world and fram-relay were correct. Two major problems weren't helping me at all: 1) they guy managing the remote router 2) Fux@#?!! italian telco who inverted DLCIs... We made a real time trial and error to...

Super Cisco Rookie - frame relay help + vty config

Hi man & thanks, actually I see you create a subint for s0 (I think the common practice is to set the subint # to recall the DLCI # for convenience); but then I don't follow anymore... from what I read subint allow for multiplexing, but here there's just one PVC between me and the remote...

    Connecting 6 Superstack 3300's

Hi Pete, I got more or less the same config you got: 7 3com superstack II 3300 24pt 2 matrix modules 2 resultant stacks: 1x4 units - 1x3 units The 2 stacks are connected via a 4 port trunk and now I wanted to go for Copper Gigabit, so I asked 3com if it was possible to install 2 1000Base-T...
