The answer was simple - we used another comma instead of a period for the decimal place (regional settings)... I now feel so unworthy ... but it's a Friday so I'm okay again ;)
This almost worked - but the number being merged is 1/100th of the actual value when using 2 zeros are used after the decimal, or 1/1000th the originalnumber when 3 zeros are used. If no zeros are used then the number shows no zeros, but this is a financial Excel sheet being merged so accuracy...
Installed the Opera browser.
Hotmail works, as does MSN through web client (not through MSN messenger).
Personal Banking was also not working and now is.
Windows update - still no luck
RE-installed IE 6 (sp1) - still no luck
I'm having the same problem helping a family with windows XP home version.
MSN messenger and hotmail timeout.
Windows update gives the "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on the page. As a result, the page may not display correctly" error message...
We tried a similar setup over here. We use consultants for GroupWise. We were able to get both up and working ... you seem to know what to do, maybe you should double check how to do it.
I'm no expert, but I'll verify our set up later.
Ciao,
I work for a school.
Most staff are reporting spam mail on a daily basis - one as many as 20 spam mails per day. The ideal solution would be to separate mail from known sources (in address books) from unknown sources.
Sorry, there's not much time to write - we're in exam time.
Any help...
All policies can be edited from the registry if:
1) You know where to look or
2) Someone who knows where to look writes a program for you.
A last ditch attempt may be to download a shareware registry editing program and give it a whirl ... of course, depending on how many applications are...
Thank you all.
"TheLad" summed up my needs quite well. The solution was quite simple:
using the DNS/DHCP console:
1 (done) - create your DHCP range if needed
2 (done) - create the specific entry for the host, specifying 'manual' along with the MAC address
3 (oops) - make sure that...
Client connections to a database are filtered by IP address. The reserved addresses will be used within the school library and will have fewer permissions (maintaining the library computers for more academic purposes). We could use static IP addresses on these 8 machines however, learning how to...
We use a private network with NAT on Bordermanager.
DHCP has been set up on the Bordermanager server.
I have been asked to change several computers to reserved addresses.
After trying to create the reservation for a computer (Win98SE), it continues to renew its DHCP licence, even after...
What operating system are users on?
With windows 95/98 you can import a registry setting upon login. I use this as part of a post-ghost procedure to rename my computers based on MAC address. This allows one login script/configuration file. To assign a separate IP address based on user is also...
A couple of users have been receiveing spam from various sources. I'm an MCSE on a Novell network (no comments please). Using other mail systems I would know where to look for the source address of the message ... but with GroupWise I am lost.
Any ideas where to look for the source IP address...

A user approached me today with an address book issue. The Groupwise & frequent contacts address books were both normal, however, she had lost all names from her personal address book.
Searching her drives for *.pab or *.nab turned up nothing.
Reinstalling the Groupwise 5.5 software changed...
Filemaker Pro reports that a database file cannot be opened by a user because another user has the file in use. The file resides on a Novell server.
Is there any method in Novell (5.1) that can be used to determine all users
1) connected to a server?
2) connected to / using a specific file...
Running GW 5.5 on Novell 5.1.
2 users have emails that are often mistyped by others who add an extra letter, i.e.: The sender tried to reach us at contacts@ourplace.com when the proper email is contact@ourplace.com. Because this is not an isolated case I would like to either create the second...
Our Groupwise 5.5 system seems store '.bad' messages and does not send a reply or bounce the message back to the sender. This results in messages, going in and out, whose addresses are mistyped to seem as though they went through normally. Occasionally a user comes up to me asking why the other...
