I have several 7700s DNs with only one feed tray. One by one they have all started jamming on legal-sized media. The first sheet starts to exit from the fuser into the receiving tray, and about 1/3 of the way out, the machine stops and gives a "jam at lower left" error. If I turn the machine off...
Hopefully you have this figured out by now, but there is a moving kit which has various bits in it that hold different parts securely while the printer is moved. Download the full user's manual from the Xerox site as the unpacking instructions for new machines will tell you about it.
Hi, Michael - That fuser percentage is covered in the Xerox Tech support files, I now find. It says that if you put a used fuser in, it either shows it as 50% or 10%, and there is no way to reset it. It even occurs if you take a fuser out, try a different fuser in the printer, then try and put...
I have a Xerox 7700 that showed a "jam at fuser" error occasionally when there was no jam. It used to do it once every few days. Now it does it routinely and often won't reset. Even after removing the sheets (they aren't jammed) and restarting the machine by turning it off and on, it still says...
Michael - WOW! That's the biggest TIP I've ever seen. No question that you have resolved my problem. The biggest problem that I usually have is knowing what truthfully can be handled by a savvy user, and what really requires a trained tech. I hate to have a tech come out and then find out that...
Michael- Thanks very much- I really appreciate your info. It's an 'Error 10'. Unfortunately I don't know what "Regicon" is, nor what the correct position for the mark on the belt is. You've obviously got access to way more tech specs than I do. I'd be greatful for step by step instructions, or...
I have several 7700s and started getting a "Laser Failure" error on start-up on one of the machines. Sometimes it boots up OK, sometimes it gives the error and won't start. Turning it off for a while and trying again usually works, even if I have to do it a few times. Can anyone explain what's...
Hi. Laser printers don't print full bleed. The normal way to do this is to make your file larger than your desired output, then print on the larger size (like letter) and trim the printed doc to the desired final size. On a 7700, if you only want one copy at a time, you CAN make your file to a...
I have a Phaser 7700 that suddenly started showing a jam when the paper is exiting the machine. Yet there is no jam. The legal sheet is about 3/4 out of the machine and it suddenly stops and says "jam at fuser." When I remove all paper from the paper path, it starts up and does the same thing...
Hi, Phelina,
I've got 4 7700s and have never experience that problem in relation to fusers. I've had it in relation to transfer rollers, when they get near the end of their life. I would suggest you do a simple test- print something that has enough cyan toner to make the blue streaks. Clean...
I have 7700s which almost never jam. When they do start jamming, it is usually due to an accumulation of paper dust or some such substance which comes off the substrate and builds up on the rollers. I just clean the various rollers with an appropriate substance (I use alcohol because it is a...
To directly answer your question, I have 4 7700s that I've been running for 3 years, and they start warning that replacement "will be needed soon" at 25%. I have also learned that usually you can run the part until the printer refuses to print anymore (at 0%) and it doesn't affect print quality...
I've seen 7700s do something similar, and also seen such things happen with other printers like Docutechs. There is something in the file that does it. PDF'ing the file and printing from the PDF instead of the native file will probably handle. Good luck and let me know what happens.
I have to print color on a polyester-based paper (Xerox Nevertear), and my 7700s run too fast - sometimes the toner smears due to incomplete fusing. I'm running on the cover stock (slow) setting and have installed the fuser temp upgrade. I want to slow them down by about 10%. Alternatively, I...
