Our Phaser 7300 usually works pretty good. Lately it has been jamming more than usual. the jams seems to be at the fuser. recently we acuired some color photos that are pretty huge tiff files. We have been preinting them. I am wondering if the fuser needs cleaning or replacing. Both the fuser and transfer unit are listed at 35% in the consumables list.

I have 7700s which almost never jam. When they do start jamming, it is usually due to an accumulation of paper dust or some such substance which comes off the substrate and builds up on the rollers. I just clean the various rollers with an appropriate substance (I use alcohol because it is a solvent for the coating on my paper) and that usually handles it. I have never had the size or type of file I was printing make any difference at all as far as jamming goes.

If the jam is on the transfer belt right before the fuser, more than likely the problem is the transfer belt. If its in the fuser or accordian jammed then I'd look at the fuser.
