We have had many problems running 1.4.2 on Windows 2000. According to Mercator "You may be able to run 1.4.2 on Windows 2000, but we have not certified that it will run and is NOT supported".

You can use either method. Different GS receiver IDs is probably the easiest way to to it. With multiple ISA then if you use a VAN, then they have to set it all up.
We use a combination of both, but since we are a large corporation then the multiple ISAs are not an issue for us.
A restriction list limits the valid data for a field (ie. an amount field may be restricted to numeric - alpha characters will not be valid).
Once place that has caused problems for us is the EDI element seperator. We had to expand the restriction list for processing on MVS.
Here's some code that I have written to do what you are talking about.
Where DPATTERN is a variable passed in from a panel I display before this processing. This will load the dataset names into a table (that you can then use). It skips over GDG bases and Alaises (but you can change that if...
Jan,
Thanks for the info. We are running Mercator 5.0 and 6.5 currently and I had 5.0 installed on my machine. Once I installed 6.5 I was able to export maps to XML.

What do you mean by limitations of DB2 REXX SQL Generator?
REXX can generate an output file that can be used as a SYSIN for DB2. As far as limiations I cannot think of any. If you can the SQL in SPUFI then you can have REXX generate it.
Does anyone know how to "read" a .mms (Mercator Map Source) file and be able to determine the Type Tree filenames (.mtt) that are used by that map?
Example: I8504010.mms uses T4010X12.mtt and T850DATA.mtt, can I parse through the .mms to extract the text T4010X12.mtt and T850DATA.mtt...
I disagree with your assesment of the fragmentation level of a hard drive. I agree that data files will have no fragmentation and most of the disk is not fragmented, the system files (and installed software) will cause great fragmentation on the system.
I suggest trying a "clean"...
Allister,
I would check to make sure system reports that you have 256MB of RAM as you have indicated. The second thing I would do is check the size of your Swap File, third thing defrag the hard drive. After installation your hard drive will be EXTREMELY fragmented. Also did you partition...
Frank,
Knowing how much you like REXX, I am glad to see you give CLIST it's credit, and pointing out some of the weakness of REXX.
As I am sure that people can see REXX is generally the best way to go, especially if they have an example of each type to contrast and compare.
